re: Remember, the SEC Tournament is different this year

For excitement purposes, I think its going to make the tournament boring as hell.
For functionality I actually love it.
The top 4 teams don't really need to prove anything on SEC Tournament weekend. MAYBE number 4 is on the bubble of being top 8 in most years. But by in large their resume's are set.
The next 4 have the potential to get 4 wins which may be the difference in being a top 16 host or not.
The bottom 8 are potentially on the bubble of getting in. By getting a chance to win 5 they can really add to their resume or a sleeper team (like Mizzou this year) can get hot and that means another SEC team in the tournament.

Went to the Friday game against Bama. Sat in the seat directly behind him. He’s still doing his thing. His voice doesn’t have that big boom anymore so I don’t think anymore outside of maybe a 15 seat radius heard him, but it’s unmistakeable. It’s him.
He also had lots of funny things to say to the umpires. Hope that dude lives forever.

We only get Lyn when it’s a game that’s only streaming. When it’s on a “real” tv channel, ESPN uses their own announcers.

I would like Tenessee to have to bat in the top of the 9th, but have it be unnecessary for us to bat in the bottom of the 9th.

The formula: since there are 30 games, if our wins plus their losses is 31 or more, they can’t catch us.

Since it seems like most are in agreement that a top 4 finish would get us a top 8 seed, the magic number to clinch top 4 is 9. Over ole miss and Vandy

There are 2 things at work here;
First, the 2 errors let those first 2 runners on so they never should’ve been on base. Hence 2 unearned runs.
Second, error 1 would’ve been out 1, Milam strike out would’ve been out 2, and error 2 would’ve been out 3. Anything that happens after is unearned.

I was sound asleep. My amazing wife happened to roll over and see the bases loaded and woke me up. She said “I think you’d want to see this.” It’s like she knew.

Weird fun fact. The softball team is not the “lady tigers.” They are just tigers. The only teams that are lady tigers are the sports with a male counterpart.

Football makes enough to support every other program.
Basketball (because of TV contracts) makes a healthy profit.
Baseball is roughly even, usually turns a negligible profit.
