I'd imagine it would have been something like "We are going after Will Wade. If we get him, we will pay your buyout and release you from your contract. If not, we will retain you for 1 more year and barring a massive improvement we will conduct a nation wide search."
It wasn't really a secret that we were all in for Wade or bust this time around. I do believe that if Wade turned us down we would have waited a year for the buyout to drop to do a big coaching search.

It definitely pissed some big money people off.
Unfortunately not for a while I don't think. We gotta get through the BK buyout, the McBuyout, the Wade buyout from NC State, and the NIL packages that cost more than some small country's GDP first. I think once the buyouts expire (assuming we don't have more) that is when you'll start to see a real push for upgrades.

I can't remember a time when all 3 major sports had this much hype and potential to be special all at the same time, let alone adding in women's basketball and gymnastics.
If this keeps up they're going to have a fun 4 years (or like many of us a few victory laps)

Some weird Mandela effect cause I’ve even heard national TV announcers say it. But the big arse win streak was in 2008. We lost in Omaha and then won it all in 2009.

Do you know what Over/Under means? It's you give us a number and then we decide if we want to pick over or under.
For example: Over/Under 50 games canceled due to work stoppage. Do you think it will be Over (more) or Under (less)

College baseball teams are made for 3 game series. I just wish the CWS would put a few days to reset pitching rotations, but that would never happen because they won’t send fans home for 4 days and have them come back.
