The parent company does not have to step in. It’s helped affiliates in the past though. But you don’t want to throw good money after bad unless California eases up on the regulatory side.

California is a single state affiliate for a reason. It’s a very difficult to operate a business in that state due to the extreme regulatory overreach.

The rest of the country should not have to subsidize California due to their anti-business politics.

re: State Farm downgraded to a B rating

This only impacts State Farm's California Fire policies...

State Farm Mutual (Countrywide Auto company & Parent company) is A++.

State Farm Fire & Casualty (Home insurance company for most states) is A++.

This downgrade is only for single state affiliate... State Farm General (CALIFORNIA)!

Just don't let anyone talk you into anything besides term. Finding quotes is easy. Don't go to a captive agent (NY Life, NWM, SF, etc).

The fact that you think people should avoid some of the best life insurance companies in the country because there is a chance someone may be interested in something besides term life is completely insane.

OP, definitely consider term first before considering other products. But don’t listen to this dude about what company to use.
The reality is State Farm is among the best in the industry, despite what the folks in this thread are saying.

Here’s an unbiased report on homeowners insurance claims satisfaction…

The irony of posts like the OPs...

We literally have a post on the OT complaining about used car prices being absurd and folks are wondering why insurance companies are raising rates across the country.

LINK (From the OT)

Insurance prices trend with used car prices, costs to repair, labor costs, delays due to short-staffed repair shops and parts shortages (which is, generally, also due to manufacturing shops being short-staffed). The issue is insurance tends to lag behind the previously mentioned trends, especially in Louisiana.

Insurance companies aren't allowed to adjust prices in real-time to reflect the changing market realities. They can only raise rates every 12 months due to odd rules within the Louisiana Department of Insurance.

It definitely sucks that rates are going up, but the insurance companies are just reacting to trends and following rules/laws that each state and department of insurance has.

Basic research could land you on dozens of articles, like this one LINK or this one LINK, that explain it in more detail.

Generally not negotiable.

This does nothing to solve the homeowners insurance issues in Louisiana.
What is the interest rate on the policy loan versus the guaranteed interest of the policy?

Seems like you could crash and burn HARD if interest on the loan outpaces the interest on the policy. Then, you'd lose all your money.

OK, I'm done with Terminix, suggestions on who to switch to.

Weird melt.

Terminix is very professional and affordable. Not sure why the hate.

I also don't see much differentiation from most companies. They spray the same shite.

What's your bayou roast recipe?

I've already said this in this threat, but I guess I'll say it again:

So let me get this straight, you trust a Chinese-made virus more than an American-made vaccine?

Wonder how bad the damage is... any early reports out of Sulphur/Lake Charles?

So ignorant to call it "Chinese". It's just the first place diagnosed. Should be obvious now that it was already in other countries well before it was first diagnosed.

Did your fairy feelings get hurt? Hopefully it hurt when you were swallowing that big load of Chinese propaganda.

Or, nice troll.

Either way.
Maybe. Too bad the doc ran out of HIV tests too.
Doc said it was not the flu.

I haven’t had a fever like that in 12 years. But wasn’t as bad as the flu when I got it in college.
Wednesday - Fatigue, Head Ache, Chills
Wednesday Night - Fever over 102
Thursday - Fever (100-101) and some chills.
Friday - Dry Throat, slightly short of breath, but no fever.
Saturday - No symptoms
Sunday - No symptoms
Monday - No symptoms

My doc said it was probably corona time but wouldn’t test me since I’m in my early thirties.

Good thing we crashed the world economy for this.
