Using Excel, a few more variables, and way too much of my employer's time at the 9 year mark, LSU has a slight nudge out in front as #1.
Using this un-weighted ranking, even if Florida wins the SEC and BCSNCG my model predicts that UT slides into #1 and LSU slides back to #3; however, my model doesn't put any weight on the fact that winning three of the BCSNCGs would be an awesome feat if Florida can get it done.

They didn't make fun of Les, more just pointed out that he was pulling for hte Tigers!
They did mention that he was a Okie State then though... 2003 Cotton Bowl did suck though!

This is also the same guy that has USF #8, a team that will be out of it by week 7.

In other words, travel length has nothing to do with guts. Only the bravest choose to play in the SEC where they are guaranteed to compete against the most top-10 teams year in and year out. Anyone who questions the guts of the SEC football player is clueless.
After reading through all of these comments... This is my thought EXACTLY! USC HAS to travel "across the country" to try to find real competitors! We play real competitors for almost EVERY conference game. Distance in travel doesn't mean anything (3 hrs on a planve vs. 2hrs). BIG DEAL! Going to Florida for LSU is much greater than USC going to tOSU.
If LSU played in the PAC10, then YES we would have to travel, but if we win the SEC with our schedule we will still go to Miami!

Ole Miss and MSU are putting in the HUGE HD Trons... Shouldn't they focus on playing football first!
One Of Largest HD Video Boards To Stand At Scott Field
My favorite quote from the article:
"...this new video display board will enhance our fan's experience at a Mississippi State football game...in a way that has never before been seen at Scott Field."
Getting beat 45-0 in home opener... Now that is a "fan experience!"
BTW, when do we get one?
