re: Your Experience with Wisconsin Fans
Posted by ByrdYellowJacket91 on 9/1/14 at 7:59 pm
Our tailgate was between two Wisconsin tailgates. They were great. Mostly students that were very cordial and partied well. Inside the stadium was a different story. Had 4 Badger fans sit to our groups right. First thing one of them said was, "Do y'all actually go to LSU? Because most of the fans we've met didn't, and there's no way every person in this stadium went to LSU." We just laughed. He acted like every Wisconsin fan actually went to Wisconsin. They talked trash about the SEC and how slow we were the whole time they were up. There was an Iowa fan a row below that kept urging them on and talked trash as well. I thought it was pretty funny. They packed up and headed out with 2:30 left in the game. As they passed by, I said, "Hey guys, you know, you're right. I see the Big 10 does have some speed. Y'all are really quick getting out of here." He told me to F off and go lose to Bama. Loved it,

Gymnastics (besides football), is the most entertaining/competitive sport that LSU fields. So me. I care. And you cared enough to post in this thread. So evidently you care also.

Exactly right. Every team could compete alone at home all year long. You're essentially competing against yourself. Trying to score higher and stay consistent is the goal, not necessarily to score higher than the other team on that night, although it does look good in the win column.

Right. So you just said that LSU's "average" that actually matters is higher than Florida's, correct?

ACTUALLY, LSU's average score (RQS) IS higher than UF and OU's. That's the reason they're ranked #1 as we speak... Don't you people understand statistics? It's not that difficult.

LSU's average score is actually higher than UF'a and the margins got even wider tonight. LSU is rewarded for scoring higher consistently on the road. UF's highest score is taken out of the equation, just like LSU's. It's simple statistics really. Eliminate the outliers and you have a better representation of a team's average. After LSU,UF, and OU, there actually is a substantial gap in average scores.

It doesn't really mean anything, actually. And to say that UF athletics are "out in front" of LSU athletics is pretty comical.

Actually, both of y'all are wrong. Despite losing the meet to UF, LSU is ranked #1 in the country. Wins/losses mean absolutely nothing in gymnastics. Also, LSU's weakes event has been the bars. Beam has seen a great improvement.

Byrd was almost screwed out of a trip to the Dome by that horrible non-touchback call. The refs most definitely favored HC. North LA teams have always had to beat the South LA team and the refs.
I think Byrd should beat Rummel if they play like they have all year.

Byrd needs to stop fumbling the ball
I sat through last weeks game against Captain Shreve. The rain in the first half definitely didn't help the offense. It was a fumble-fest. Get a handle on those loose balls and the Jackets could go all the way.
