re: Hey Divorced People.

19 yrs 362 days

I did.

Her business failed and she drained all our savings to try to keep it afloat. While I was working two jobs to keep the lights on. I’d have to get the kids, cook, clean and basically do everything around the house. But it was never good enough. When I found out she wasn’t actually working during the day but sitting around the house watching movies, shopping or sleeping until noon I was done. Grabbed the boys and never looked back. Best day of my life.
I went through the same thing years ago. First it was a $100 here, $200 there. Then it was credit cards and then the HELOC. Then she liquidated my son’s college savings account. Took less than a year and it was all gone.

She wasn’t spending the money on drugs or booze. She literally was giving it away. The voices in her head were telling her it’d help save her and our family.

Your wife needs help. She has some kind of mental illness. You’ve already said it runs in the family. Who knows why or what is causing it. Meds, age, genetics. It doesn’t matter.

You need to step up and protect your financial health. And if you care about her and your family get her the help she needs or it’ll get worse until she accepts she needs help.
I just got mine back a couple weeks ago. They covered the repairs, just cost shipping.

Only thing that sucked was I called to get a status after a week longer than the original estimate. Customer service/chat rep was completely worthless. Covid, short staff, my frame was out of stock with no eta when they’d be back in stock. Blah blah blah. Offered to send me a different frame. I pointed out that the site would allow me to order my exact pair. I got a reply that the site wasn’t always right. So I just hung up since they couldn’t tell me anything.

Two days later a new pair showed up with a new case and microfiber cloth.

re: Atlanta, Charlotte or Nashville

I live in Atlanta. Only way I’d move here is to be 30 miles or more outside the city limits. And only time I’d head that way is to go to the airport.

Charlotte would be first choice
Medical examiner would probably say COVID since it is the only new issue. They’ve been living with all the other issues.

Is it right to do so though?
I’ve been to Henry’s numerous time. I want to make the trek from Canton to the Big Easy, but last season I typically ended up I’ll getting drunk at the house.
Offense starts taking a knee on the 5 yard line up by 28 with 4 minutes left in the game.
A friend from school mother passed away. Had the funeral and was pissed how much it cost for a casket. Researched and found a manufacturer who would sell directly to him. Also determined the funeral association in GA basically had a monopoly on the business. Hired and attorney and got a federal lawsuit lined up. Opened a retail casket company here in Atlanta. A few months later the funeral association sued him in state court where he counter sued in federal. Needless to say they paid him about $10mm to go away.

Has a kick arse Halloween party every year with a few caskets he converted to coolers.
Same thing happened to me. New pair was $50-75 including shipping
Yeah I’d say he’s gotten paid. Net worth $10mil

Dang I wish tuition was what it is in Baton Rouge. Here in Atlanta it’s crazy. $27k for my son, got a pay raise when the oldest left for college.

If you look on the appraisal there should be a box checked “subject to” and not “as is”. If the subject to box is checked the appraiser is assuming appliances and all other mechanicals will be there when they do the final inspection.

If it’s just Land right now the appraisal should be subject to and is perfectly normal for them to state appliances and all are in working matter as they are assuming they will be there when they do the final inspection when the house is done.

In regards to your room count, depending upon where the bedroom is that room may just be included in the square footage. Here in GA bedrooms in basements are not counted as bedrooms but are included in the square footage. It also depends if the room has a closet and ingress/egress. Basically a window. If the bedroom doesn’t have a closet or window it’s just included in the square footage.

re: Car question - what to buy?

Subaru, Toyota or Honda
Ya think? Crap always runs downhill. Welcome to mediocrity until there is change at the top.

I thought the NCAA had to grant approval and the hiring school had to make a the case for him to be reinstated.

re: How long is your commute to work?

Takes about 40 minutes to go 20 miles in the mornings and about an 1 hr 30-45 minutes coming home. If I have to go to our corporate office, 40 miles, it's a minimum of 1 hr 15 minutes in the am and 2 hours+ in the afternoon.

Add another 30 minutes for either if it's Friday afternoon. I hate Atlanta traffic.
Its cheaper to rent a boat for a day if your only using the thing once a year. No maintenance, insurance, etc.

But since it's been sitting that long and fiberglass is fouling up the bilge you may want to look at that transom, may be rotted.
