Are ESPN3 and ESPNU the only methods of watching the games this weekend? Will they definitely be showing LSU? What about local channels?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

That's assuming Loston pans out. Also, I'm not limiting my prediction to earning a starting spot, but, rather, working themselves into the rotation.

I thought about going that route, but to be honest I couldn't make up my mind on on which LB I would go with... which is a new and very nice problem. I'm not sure why I'm not hearing more talk about Phillips... He looks legit.
I think Thompson starts stealing playing time by the end of his freshman year, and will be a regular contributor on special teams.
Who has the best chance to make an impact in 2012?

My votes...
Offense: Avery Johnson
Defense: Corey Thompson
Offense: Avery Johnson
Defense: Corey Thompson

Hmm... Not sure, but I think I remember a teacher once saying that correlation does not equal causation :dunno:
Maybe 'Ships --> Rivals Ranking
Maybe Rivals Ranking --> 'Ships
Maybe _____ --> Both
Either way, we missed out on 3 quality players. That represents about 3% of our 2012 roster. Let's all just relax.

UGA seemed to make the most sense, IMO.

I've figured out that he believes Elston is committed to LSU based on his twitter handle, which is somewhat similar to Tyrann Mathieu's. Took me a while.

They offered the kid, and his academic numbers are on par with (or beyond) the standard of Stanford's football team. So, the question is what changed?

This isn't specific to LSU, but if you have access to ESPNU at work here is ESPN's list...
DE Mario Edwards (No. 1 in ESPNU 150): 9:05 a.m.
OLB Josh Harvey-Clemons (No. 17): 9:15 a.m. -- Will it be Florida, Georgia or Florida State?
CB Tracy Howard (No. 18): 9:35 a.m. -- Florida was once the leader, but Miami might have taken control after a successful visit over the weekend.
DT Eddie Goldman (No. 10): 10:05 a.m. -- Alabama and Auburn are competing with Florida State here.
WR Dorial Green-Beckham (No. 3): 10:15 a.m. -- Arkansas held the lead for a while, but is in a real fight down to the wire with Missouri after his official visit over the weekend.
OLB Kwon Alexander (No. 29): 11:05 a.m. -- Alabama, Auburn and LSU are all in the hunt.
S Trae Elston (No. 10 safety): 11:05 a.m. -- LSU and Ole Miss appear to be at the top of his list.
WR Nelson Agholor (No. 47): 12:05 p.m. -- This sounds like a battle between Florida and USC.
WR Thomas Johnson (No. 33): 12:20 p.m.
OT Andrus Peat (No. 9): 1:35 p.m.
OT Avery Young (No. 61): 2 p.m. -- Auburn, Florida and Georgia area all in the running and this one still appears up in the air.
CB Ronald Darby (No. 38) 2:30 p.m. -- Auburn has been heavily involved with Darby, but Florida State might have the edge.

For sure. It's just that we stickied a thread that basically says "if you don't have something positive to say, don't say anything at all". I thought that was a little silly.
re: Corey Thompson vs. Craig Loston

That's true. Are you buying the possibility that Thompson moves to LB? Some talk out there that his coverage skills are lacking.
Corey Thompson vs. Craig Loston
Posted by Mr Charisma on 1/31/12 at 3:56 pm
I think this is an interesting comparison, as they seem to profile rather similarly, yet there is a large difference in their rankings coming out of high school.
Corey Thompson (3*): 6’2 / 205 lbs / 40: 4.56
Craig Loston (5*): 6’1 / 190 lbs / 40: 4.57
Some might argue that this is an unfavorable comparison, but Loston was obviously highly touted coming out of HS and for good reasons. He still has a couple years left to live up to his potential. Thompson's got the same speed, despite Loston giving 15 lbs.
Thoughts?

I can only speak for myself, but I don't come here to see everyone's positive spin on the facts. I'm mostly here for the information and some occasional discussion. I definitely agree that the rule against insulting players and their families should be strictly enforced, but I completely disagree with the notion that we should strategically omit negative facts and/or subjectively put these facts in a positive light.

Interesting. I never paid too much attention to the fine print since I took the SAT as a junior, but I remember Yale's requirements being either the SAT, SAT Writing, and two subject tests or the ACT and two SAT subject tests. I'm surprised that some schools would be more rigid than Yale when it comes to testing.
Ha, well you will probably have more insight than I, because I sure as hell wasn't applying to Yale!

I wouldn't call a 26 "mediocre at best". It is probably a full standard deviation or more over the average.

Yeah, it's been since 2003 that I was applying for colleges, but I remember needing an SAT score if I wanted to leave the South.
