re: Clemson and dabo

Nah, Saban could as well.

Clemson has the luxury of an easy schedule, not a shocker or a secret to anyone. This not only produces easy wins, it keeps your team healthy throughout the season and allows for less wear and tear. Everyone stays at peak physical strength throughout the year and come time for the CFP, they are primed and ready to take on the beat up B1G and SEC champs/leaders. Clemson/Dabo is in a WIN/WIN/WIN situation, and he and every other person that pays attention knows it.
I think his woe as me schtick is partly from a guilty conscience.
Thanks for the replies peoples.
Anyone have a sure-fire spot they catch pogies with a cast net in GI? Preferably on the east end (staying at Sand Dollar). TYIA.
Quotes from CC after the bowl game:

quote:

“I think our quarterbacks … I have to be honest with myself: I think I could have done a better job...I’m evaluating how I’m teaching and try to streamline some things to help Anthony play better, help develop Brandon Harris. I think both of our guys are going to be really productive quarterbacks, but I’ve got to do a better job.”

We’re going to be both – underneath the center and in the shotgun. You saw that more in the A&M game. Are we going to be a huge zone read team? I don’t know, but the threat of the zone read helps you in so many ways. It’s a little bit of a balancing act for us because we do believe in some traditional things, and a guy like Leonard benefits from those traditional thoughts where we can put him 7-8 yards behind the quarterback and let him run down hill on people.

We’re going to continue to do that. Mesh those two things together.

I like this direction and the fact he took responsibility for the errors, shows leadership. What troubles me a little, is it took him/them an entire season to make those adjustments. He has to understand who and what he is working with, and I think he does now.

quote:

“We had young guys. They were different than a fifth-year guy like Zach Mettenberger,” Cameron said. “Having a Drew Brees in the National Football League, or Joe Flacco, Phillip Rivers. I’m evaluating how I’m teaching and try to streamline some things to help Anthony play better, help develop Brandon Harris. I think both of our guys are going to be really productive quarterbacks, but I’ve got to do a better job.”

Spot on...Louisiana is full of French culture, look no further than France for the most miserable people in the world.

I for one am very excited for the future of the program. Only hope for BH to get his shite together and be our guy going forward.
Last position I filled was for a 30K a year job, I had 150+ applicants and interviewed for 2 weeks before I picked the person, and then it took another week to hire them, then another 2 weeks before they came on board. This is a 7 figure a year position, it takes time. Just because you aren't in the know about things doesn't mean things aren't happening.
quote:

Too many bridges burned by this guy. You know when he recruited against Les and Frank, it got personal. Don't think he gets a shot.....and I wish that were different.
Not at all true, why talk out of your arse when you don't know what you are talking about. Ed and Frank talk regularly and are very good friends. All I've been told by people close to the program (players and coaches) that they all want Ed on staff. Be patient, let this play out.
quote:

"After weeks of deliberation and conversations with many coaches, I've decided to call our defense. No one knows our defense and what we can accomplish with this defense more than I. At the same time, I expect to attract one of the nation's top coaches to guide our cornerbacks."

Ben Love for one, and the recruits themselves. The ones he recruits love him. As far as him and O being what and what, I meant as a coach, not recruiter.

Hopefully brick bounces and we get Coach O
Probably a push move...O and Haley are pretty interchangeable. Frank Wilson and Brick Haley are the best recruiters on staff at LSU and are 2 of the best in the country at it. Not having O on the staff is not a detriment, but having him is an asset.
Moot point

Current SEC rules very clearly require that four-year/graduate transfers have at least two seasons of eligibility remaining. Miller does not.

We lose Hilliard and McGee...
With Guice and Brosset coming in. Under CLM, LSU utilizes a 4 back system, and it works very well. IMO, LF will never win a Heisman, nor will any RB for LSU as long as CLM is the coach.
I've never understood why a curse word is any worse than any other word. If I say son of a biscuit versus son of a bitch, which is worse and why? It's socially acceptable to say frick but not frick, crap but not shite, dang but not damn...it's utterly ridiculous. A word is a word is a word.
Big woman, big pussy...Little woman, ALLL pussy.

If it has tires or a pussy, sooner or later you are going to have problems with it.

Hoe gunna hoe, can't make em a shovel.

If she ever makes you want to be an Indian and a member of the Slap-a-hoe tribe, time to leave that bitch alone.
 At first glance I thought it said Opra's house...I thought, "Damn, who the hell would have ever been to Opra's house".
Better talent doesn't equal playing time to CLM. I believe CLM takes his job of head coach of LSU football similar as he would raising his own children. After all, they are watching his actions on/off the field as we are. He treats his players as his own kids, as a mentor and father figure...probably why he is such a great recruiter, as a parent myself, I definitely respect that. If you want it, you HAVE to earn it, nothing is given, from nothing earned. I like that. He is teaching his players more than just football, because life is more than football, and I think he takes this very seriously, as any parent should.

quote:

Exactly. He won the job and Harris did nothing to win it back. He (as many fans here as well) wanted the job given to him even though he was getting outworked by an older, more experienced player and proven winner.

The fact that it took Harris until the fall to realize he needed to be outworking Jennings is his own fault.

In any situation in life, if you want something someone else has (and Jennings WON the job) you need to go get it, not wait for someone to give it to you because you think you deserve it. Your own personal opinion of yourself doesn't mean as much as someone elses if they are the ones determining if you get what you want.

Harris should have known what time #10 was going to arrive and beat him by 5 minutes every day. If he did an extra hour of film study, I want two hours. If he stays around for 30 minutes with Dural after practice, I want an hour with Dupre and Quinn.
Worth repeating.
