Saw him in their scrimmage against parkview, wasn't very effective but EA had a pretty bad line. Think LF, Williams and shorter are higher up on our board.

Tut was at St. John for 4 years I think before going to live oak last year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see guy Mistretta try for that job. He hasn't had the same success getting players into dunham like at redempt. Admission standards are higher and tuition more expensive than st Michael. Most of his guys at dunham are cecp anyway so non faculty coaches wouldn't be an issue.

Just seems to be a trend with their last 2 coaches, Musemeche and held both had good solid regular seasons and couldn't get that first playoff win. Musemeche left for 1A St. John and Eric is leaving for an assistants job. That may be the peak for the school.
I think Paul Varnado may be the guy their, already on staff and wants to be a head coach again.

I think he had reached his peak there, got 7-8 wins a year & to the playoffs every year. tough to compete with catholic high for kids, tough to get assistants hired and from what the paper said, maybe just tired of being a head coach. He wanted to be more of a dad and while the hours are the same, not the same responsibilities or headaches. Sounded like getting to work for Dale Weiner was also a factor. Catholic has upgraded their staff the last 2 years with eric and Anthony Camp last year.

Eric Held, the head football coach at st Michael resigned to take the special teams / running backs job at catholic. Good guy who did a great job at st Michael, wish him the best of luck & hope st Michael can get a good replacement this late in the game & continue doing a solid job.

Watts is the principal, and Sanchez is the AD. Hargroder and Sanchez were at redempt together.

no doubt neil is a great offensive coach. He has some athletes in school and can put the points up but they are soft and cant stop anyone. In my personal opinion, running that type of offense makes you soft, takes the better athletes and puts them on offense, and doesn't put your defense in the best position. You can go three and out real quick or score real quick, either way you are putting your defense on the field more so than most offenses. As you said, Bob Howell was more consistent overall and he had the wishbone / pound ground game.

I think for now it could be a destination job for most sports on salary and facilities alone. With warren drake leaving, who knows about the future. Not a great basketball district other than scotlandville. Football on the other hand.....I wonder how safe Weiner is. They got rid of bob Howell to bring a flashy offense in and he had some solid years but gets pounded in the first round every year and they don't play defense. I know Howell had them in 4A but he had better long term success than Neil so fat

Out of those 3 I would say don green has the better resume, he has a few rings and has won everywhere he has been. Don't know much about Elmo, does solid at Woodlawn and st Michael before that. Hargroder has a connection to Zachary AD from his days at redempt

Yea I believe he did but wasn't one of the finalists. With the salary I would agree with it being a destination job. Scotlandville in your district is tough though.

Rumor mill says Elmo Fernandez from Woodlawn, Brian hargroder from live oak and don green from parkview

Work with a guy who played under Steve early in his coaching career, he thinks the world of him. He said he was ahead of his time and had a great knack of getting match-ups as a playcaller. If you look at his career, he had some great offenses at tech and Georgia and those big stops at a & m and Clemson speak to his coaching ability. The guy I work with said tight ends were beneath him and how good he was with quarterbacks and wide receivers and was great at simplifying things. He's seen a lot of football and is probably valuable in a lot of ways for LSU.

I don't think stud is leaving but if he does, Hal hunter coached in San Diego with Cameron I think? He just took an asst o-line job with another team. Former tiger rob sale is working at mcneese and spent a lot of time at bama. Also Lunda wells worked here as a GA and is with the buffalo bills now.
