re: Medicaid pays this woman's $10,000 a month prescription bill

If this is in regards to the price of prescription medication, I'm actually on board with it. Most favored nation pricing can't come fast enough. I'd have to have a little more context.

That's the thing. I'd actually be ok with doing something for student loan borrowers(not forgiveness - maybe 0% interest) IF they actually addressed the underlying cause.
Until then it doesn't make sense to do anything...it's just going to keep happening.

They put dynamic fuel management on all of them. Aside from this issue, the biggest failure to date has been these dumb arse cylinder shut off lifters.

It's only going to get worse until people start voting with their wallet.

How has an Ozempic thread gotten to page 4 without Mingo weighing in with his manlet self righteousness?

I’ve been flying out of DFW for nearly 20 years, at least 200 flights. I’ve never once seen anything crazy there.
Same, never seen anything crazy but the storms know when I'm connecting through DFW and the delays frequent. Worst one I had was flying back from Punta Cana. Our connection(last leg) was supposed to take off at 7pm back to Little Rock, they delayed it 5 times and then canceled it at 1am. frickers. Ended up having to rent a car and drive the 5 hours back. We made it...but I'm too old for that shite these days. Problem was it was my kids birthday so momma wasn't up for any delays.
re: There can't be many things worse than standing in line to pay after euthanizing your dog
Posted by kennypowers on 3/26/25 at 8:40 am
With out last dog, we had called in advance for the vet to come to the house and do the deed. As it worked out she couldn't because of some other stuff going on at the office. Once we got there we were shown back to the room. We had to pay in advance(totally get that part)...but what rubbed me the wrong way was they started adding on "extras" while my dog is laying there writhing in pain. Did we want a special vase for the ashes, did we want her cremated alone or just thrown in with the other animals being destroyed. Anyway, we paid and they did the deed. I will that they did have a special room in the back that had an exit to the back parking lot so you don't have to walk out through the lobby when it's over. Overall 6/10. We've switched vets since then. Indications are the new guy isn't the nickel and dime upsell kind of guy...but I guess we'll see once we have to put the next one down.

Life is too short to manage the feelings and emotions of those that can't manage their own.

People need to understand a real estate an agent does not represent you. They represent the deal.
A nutless chimpanzee can do this as well. But alas, most people need reassured and their hand held by someone who drives an unpaid for Lexus.
Your first statement is patently false but your second statement is 1,000,000% true. There are so many people out in the world that are scared to make decisions and are willing to give significant sums of money to people to have their hand held. Why do you think therapists make as much as they do? They are just sitting there listening to you piss and moan.

I recall in the book Freakonomics, studies have been done that show when realtors work on buying and selling their own houses, they fight a lot harder.
And that's completely normal. One of the important things you are buying with an agent is they have no emotional attachment to the deal and can help give clear guidance when things get messy.
My wife had a seller kill a deal 2 days before closing because they didn't like how the buyer spoke to them about one of the repairs they had already paid for. Instead of closing in 2 days now you get to start the process all over again. Moral of the story is that some people are completely incapable of controlling their own emotions. You've all met them at the grocery store or the DMV. Guess what? Those people are out there buying and selling houses too.

Baby cousin graduated with a comp science degree from ULL a year ago. He has an IT help desk job at a hospital. Has applied to hundreds of jobs and has gotten one interview that seemed interested. I told he may have to ride it out with the help desk job for another year or two. If that doesn't work, he might start looking at some other areas. He's open to moving, has applied to positions across the country.
Unfortunately this is becoming the new normal. They go to college for 4 or 5 years, spend ungodly amounts of money and end up in the same place the kid that didn't even look at college started.

And yes, I've done a triathlon. I wanted to complete one in my lifetime so I did a sprint. As a great poet once said: "I'm not trying to be the best at exercising."
I know you think you're superior to all of these people out here trying to get healthier but just know we all see how small you are. You might try building people up instead of being a gigantic douche all the time.

It took two years for the surgery to take? That seems excessive. How many samples did he have to give? Did he ever have a negative test or was is positive every time?
Yeah, the math an mathin on that comment. The physical connection(vas deferens) is severed during the procedure. When I had mine done he placed the piece of the tube he cut out on my chest so that I could see with my own eyes that it was done.
Unless they didn't actually complete the task this seems improbably at best. 2 Year? I'd be asking for another procedure on the house after the first couple of samples.
