We agree to disagree then. I think they're probably better than any other chain I've had (Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc). Is it the best ever? Absolutely not but I don't think it's bad at all.
I love Lit Pizza. This has nothing to do with the point Y.A. was making though - y'all just went off on a tangent.
$16 is fairly standard going rate for a 14" pepperoni pizza at a local, dine-in onsite pizza place. Lit Pizza has outstanding prices because it is short order, mostly takeout chain, and relies on turn and burn. Quite different from a brewery or traditional restaurant.
Pepperoni pizza, or 14" cheese, pepperoni added:
Rocca: $18
Red Zep: $14
DiGiulio Brothers: $18
Reginelli's: $18.50
Rotolo's on Perkins: $20.75 (lord I hope this is just an online ordering app price)

I have healthy, straight, shoulder length hair. I tried going a day or two without washing it and I felt DISGUSTING. It changed how I view women. Now I look at them and think damn she's probably nasty I wonder how long it's been since she's washed her hair.
I don't get it. If a dude went without washing himself somewhere on his body, women would be repulsed. But we got women bragging about going 5+ days without washing their hair in Louisiana summer.
It's wild how deep the brainwashing has gone.
When I got married, my hairdresser was like, "Please for the love of god wash your hair a day or two before". She said she gets people coming in with such disgusting hair she can't touch it or make it look decent when pulled up to expose the roots.

Years ago, hairdressers started letting people with unruly hair or hair that couldn't be cleaned as often without becoming a mess know that it was okay to skip days washing. This was great news for those people because cleaning their hair too often was causing them damage and issues styling it.
As a result, the word spread and the pendulum swung so far in the other direction that even to this day, you have misinformed women with naturally healthy/straight-ish hair going days upon days with rancid hair when their hair can take normal washing just fine.
The myth has been debunked numerous times in recent years by people who know a lot more than random hairdressers, but a lot of women still walk around with the idea in their head that they must "train" their hair to be filthy for ~health~.

Made this tonight, and honestly.. It was really solid. It isn't overly Velveeta-y at all like, say, a chicken spaghetti would be. This recipe is basically doubled what my chicken spaghetti recipe is but with the same amount of Velveeta I use in that, so the sauce was a lot looser and not overly thick. If anything, I'd say the Velveeta was just like a shortcut emulsifier.
I added a few things I had on hand just to use them up: tomato paste with the aromatics, a can of diced green chilis to go with the Rotel.. and a good bit of Crystal into the cheese sauce. Also trinity that I had caramelized to deeply brown color for like 2 hours a few weeks ago and froze, made from Guidry's containers that were soon to go bad if not used, so it was richer in flavor in that regard.
This recipe makes a ton. We both ate, then I filled up 5 separate quart containers for friends/the freezer.

re: How much do you actually work at your job?
Posted by LouisianaLady on 5/30/26 at 5:44 pm to boogiewoogie1978
Depends. Busy season, all day long, cook/eat dinner, back down to my home office for ~2 hours every single weekday.
Not busy season, a lot of my job is needs-based with some monthly and annual projects thrown in randomly. In Jan, Feb, March, I do a whole lot less than the spring, summer, and fall. But it evens out.

They emailed me about it on their own. I paid the entire cost out of pocket for my BCBS plan for a couple of years due to being 1099 and not covered by an employer. Maybe that's why? I don't recall the specifics of the settlement.

What's funny is, when you think about it, the people who will be most likely to be handed down a "free nest egg" via their inheritance from their parents who were well off and saved.. are likely the same people already properly saving for their own retirement.
I could somewhat understand being lax on retirement savings if you're someone with a nice inheritance down the line (although it is dumb, anything can happen), but I highly doubt those are the people being lax of saving and investing.

The cavalcade of excuses is endless.
I remember working at a company where, when they first added 401k benefits and hosted a team call with the group managing it, tons of definitely inexperienced questions were fired off about it by people in their late 40s+. I was so surprised, and it dawned on me this might be the first ever time they contribute if they even DO opt in.
I was super young at the time and just set it at maximum company will match, but every annual raise as my pay went up, I adjusted the percentage to match the raise amount.
It's like, I get it is a bit scary. I get a little flutter every time I buy another share in my individual investment account since I have to physically go in and do that versus it coming out of pay. But you just gotta educate yourself and think about the future.

There's a saying I've heard a dozen times: Retirement is not an age. It's a number.

I think the plan has always been to take the money that we have saved and sacrificed for and give it to those who were not responsible enough to do it for themselves.
Even though I can't stand most NYT media, there was a semi-decent episode of The Daily about the 401K. Don't get me wrong - it had plenty of leftist BS about those who can't save for retirement, but the discussion was interesting enough.
I don't recall for the life of me where they were saying they funds for this would come from, but the main idea was less handing people money without any contribution of their own, and instead government funds being used to match up to $X like a company would. Basically to incentivize people to contribute on their own, and then the "free money" aspect kicks in.
What's funny is their ultimate conclusion was that it is highly unlikely most people who don't save for retirement now would magically start doing it now even with government match. In their eyes, it is still money they're "losing" now. And I guess if you're poor enough, you also can't afford to part with it in the present.

I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on that, but as someone who has never used parboiled rice before, what is the advantage of using it? Does it not require liquid or something? I've never worked with it, and I'm curious what would make it more convenient than regular rice or why this debate exists.

I've ordered fish I've never even heard of at Mansur's.

It is the best all around restaurant in BR , IMO
We go every other Monday. Their fish is 10/10. Always get the triple tail or tile. They knock their steaks out of the park too. Most non-steak places do not. I had the tournedos this past Monday and it had cabbage confit and sweet potato puree. Outstanding.
Oh- and always pan sauteed. People tend to go for cedar plank, and it's fine, but pan sauteed is sooooooo good.

You're not getting much in the way of free stuff for a simple delay, especially a delay that isn't hindering you from making a connection.

I honestly just hate errands and people.
Admittedly, UPS is across the street from my neighborhood area, but it shares a parking lot with Neighborhood Walmart next to the trashiest apartments in town.. so I'll carry that package around for 2+ weeks before I finally relent and stop when it's too early for annoying people to be out and about yet.
I've never done a return I can get picked up, as I usually need to walk in with the item in hand and hand it off to them to box/label for me (included in most returns these days). I don't keep boxes or packages around to repackage something myself and get it picked up.
