Everyone goes crazy when we do 1/4 head wedge salads with Cousin’s Creole Tomato dressing, extra sweet grape tomatoes sliced in half, thick bacon lardons, chives, blue cheese crumbles, everything bagel seasoning, and balsamic glaze.
Beautiful presentation and so delicious.

Also. You can only train on so much.
I work in consulting. Nobody comes in knowing how to consult on the federal area we consult on, but it's public information. Just a LOT of it. Takes a solid couple of years to fully feel confident in knowing most of it. That's totally normal and okay. It's a lot to learn.
The difference between those who have worked out great vs. those who have not are that the former group went off on their own and researched and studied the area they need to be knowledgeable in. Those who only relied on manager training, which is just internal SOP type training (how we do XYZ) are those that can't hack it.
I was reading boring 300-page regulation manuals on my flights home after work trips the first 1-2 years at it. If you aren't willing to self-learn along WITH the training, then you can't go around blaming lack of training.
I think some new employees have an unrealistic expectation of exactly what training should entail.

Eh. The only people I've ever heard whine about not being properly trained were coincidentally 3 people that couldn't hack it at jobs where other people their own age who also came "untrained" stepped up and learned just fine.

I agree G. Hughes has the best low calorie sauces on the market. I'm someone that doesn't mind artificial taste, so I'll get Sugar Free Sweet Baby Ray's some, but you can't deny G. Hughes is just far and away better.
Their Sweet Chili sauce is really awesome because we make a lot of Asian-type dishes that call for Thai Sweet Chili Sauce which are much higher in calories/sugar than G. Hughes version.
I'd love to find all of the sauces they have on their website. They have Polynesian and also Sweet and Sour, which could be awesome on grilled or air fried chicken.

I don't entirely mind the dress, but I hate the hair and I do admittedly find it jarring to see an elderly woman showing so much skin.
She wore this back in Feb:

I often get the Sliders from WalkOns, don’t know if they are the same. But those I enjoy.
I order them every time I go as well. They didn't used to be the same, but they have changed them over time and they definitely resemble Smalls more now. They used to use regular slider buns, and now they're shiny and brioche-like similar to Smalls.
That said, the websites list different nutritional information for Walkons vs. Smalls. 927 for 3 Smalls, 760 for 3 Walkons. So who knows. Maybe Walkons doesn't go insane with the butter like Smalls does.
re: Is there really a big difference in daycares?
Posted by LouisianaLady on 5/5/25 at 2:33 pm
I have to imagine the daycare workers being paid $12/hr run the risk of being people you don't want around your children.
In order to pay for the quality workers, the money has to come from somewhere. It's not like the business is making profits from any other means.

I met someone the other day that doesn't eat the yellow "fat", and I was stunned. It's so flavorful.
I don't suck the heads because I don't care about spicy water, but damn I love the yella.
I just dig it out with my pinky.

That's actually exactly how I do it, and I never see people doing it that way. I see a lot of grabbing both sides of the tail and splitting it down the middle, which is just odd to me.

Those are great. And the owners of that company are friends of mine from LSU engineering school, and certainly the type of people you'd want to support.
They actually came to my house for my NYE party once, and they were super sweet. Doubt they’d remember me these days - this was years ago.
I picked up the sleep 8mg gummies today. Rad Dad was a really cool spot. So many interesting things to try in there.
Have plans tonight and this weekend where I’ll be drinking and I tend to not do both since a couple wines do the trick on their own, but maybe I’ll give the gummies a shot Sunday or definitely Monday.

Interesting. I cook daily. I’m 34. My close girlfriend group is about 14 ladies in total, and probably 50% of us cook regularly.

I certainly hope you're joking and you're not regularly taking Benadryl for sleep. I learned about a year into doing it how horrible it is for your long term cognitive health, and I avoid it as much as possible these days.

Ya know, I do THC drinks on weeknights, and I'm starting to not drink them because they make me have to pee so much that it negates any sleepy properties it might give me.
I may have to run to Rad Dad tomorrow and pick up some of the sleepytime THC gummies.
This seems promising. 8mg THC, plus the other add-ins. 5HTP is so good for you too.

re: EBR public schools closing and consolidating is a bad omen for BR
Posted by LouisianaLady on 4/30/25 at 4:22 pm
People have been begging for EBR to consolidate schools for ages now. We've got to do something about the insane bloat the funding is going to when it should be going to education.
And if EBR wants to continue throwing a fit about the funding that "follows the pupil" when many of their pupils are eventually attending St. George schools down the line, then they need to start addressing their serious mismanagement of funds ASAP.

I don't want to sound like a misogynist but about half of the women out there these days offer zero value (but the same goes for men as well). My wife was a diamond but most of the women I met before her either had zero career prospects, were overweight, had piercings/tattoos, were degenerates of some kind, or had lots of baggage (single moms).
I don't disagree with you here, but this is more of a "women over X age" thing than it is a "women" thing. Last women standing, if you will.
Most of the good women who are none of the above got scooped up years ago. The men who either didn't care, weren't ready to date, or couldn't bag them just missed their opportunity.

There's not much I won't eat ever since I've been like 18. Apples and Root Beer are all I can think of. I said "prefer". Not "refuse to eat".

When I was a kid I hated mash potatoes, they made me gag whenever I was forced to eat them.
I hated potatoes as a kid. To the point where my parents couldn't even shut me up with McDonalds fries, and when they tried to give me my first hash brown, I was like 4 years old calling out that it tasted like fries.
As I got older, I became more tolerant of potatoes, but still prefer them in a way that masks the starchy texture/flavor. Twice baked vs. plain baked. Seasoned fries with ketchup vs. plain potato-y fries. Even in "mashed", I like a soft-skinned mash with roasted garlic, butter, cheese, sour cream, etc. far more than a finely mashed russet type.
These days, we will even boil baby potatoes as a dinner side, but I prefer them tossed in a tangy mustard/vinegar type dressing over just plain boiled with salt.
