Look, if you are going to be a jackass just stay away.
I was wanting to see if anyone had any marinade recipes, experience with this, tips, etc

Ok- I am GOING to make the fajitas- it has already been decided....so can anyone help me with that? I plan on marinating them the night before-so for 24 hours or so
And they are not the wrong texture- I have seen fajitas made with filets before, so I know it can be done.....

Filet Mignon Fajitas...question
Posted by la tigra on 6/13/10 at 6:29 pm
So, I have some filets that have been in my freezer for a while- one set for 6 months, one set for a year and 6 months. They are from omaha steaks, so they have stayed wrapped/in the box.
BUT I still think they will not be that good as 'steaks' so I wanted to make fajitas wtih them. Anyone have a good marinade recipe. I will be doing them on a grill...
Also, should I pound them thin? cut them before cooking?
Thanks!

I've heard Gino's serves up a good steak, however, I have never had one there....
If I had to pick, I'd say Ruths - from my limited experience with steaks in BR (for a while)

re: Why is P.F. Chang's on a pedestal in BR?
Posted by la tigra on 6/12/10 at 8:58 pm
First off, I like PF Changs- it is a good chain place....
2nd off...every single place in the US has an infatuation with chain food....after golf the other day, we decided to go to dinner....I live in Jersey....all of the chains were busy (judging from the parking lot)...we went to an obscure Outback (and by obscure I mean in the middle of a business park) and there was a HUGE wait....
I am not a huge chain person and would rather eat local, but when you are nasty after a day of golf and its 'dinner' time- you have to know where you will fit in....

I can't disagree with your logic. You just sound like your ex. Who I know. Mosca's is a pretty damn good place. My treat to you both if that is cool.
Hahahaha- we didn't get married for no reason!
If you can get us both in town at the same time, you're on! But I also assume it is like most 'italian' places down there and they have seafood/cajun type dishes (ala Ruffino's in BR)

I live in Hoboken, NJ....when I go back to La, I want cajun/creole, etc...I can get better -or just as good- italian up here. I can't get cajun/creole up here....
So, it wasn't a bad thing- just a logical thing for me

what about Sammy's??
I don't eat RBandR (I know un-cajun)- but they are slimy to me....But I can't offer a real opinion- only an opinion of good 'cajun' food at other places that may have it
I know all my friends who like it do like Chimes

If there are oysters, it is not true italian...just saying...
So, my answer would be no, b/c it can't be true 'italian'- but I haven't eaten there and probably wont

I went to TenPen (although I think this is spelled wrong) when I was there a year or so ago- it was really good!

The second part is probably true...the first part- only if you want a 2000 sq ft apartment - ok a 1,000 sq ft apartment
Granted, I live in Hoboken but most of my friends live in NYC- and none of them are 'lottery winner' rich....
