I took my anvil off of my RRS and put it on the Two Vets. Anvil is by far the best shooting head. The ball heads are better for glassing I think. I want a RRS 3 section but my wallet said Two Vets lol.

I'd second Two Vets, but that's not all out lol. RRS is all out, and they are worth it.
Easy answer as I've shot at almost all the ranges mentioned. Roaming Shot is the answer. Iberville would be my second pick. I'm a member at Roaming Shot so if you need help booking a time or something let me know and I'll help.

re: Tikka T3 ACE Game is a shooter

Pretty much par for the course with my experience with Tikkas. 6.5PRC is a very underrated and under-utilized cartridge.
I have a few in a trust but all the last few years have been individual because I don’t really let people borrow them. Only one I really lend out is my Omega cause I don’t care about it lol.

Even if you went individual to get it quicker, after the first you can file to move however many you want into a trust and you already have them. Never plan on only buying one. I’m at 11 now and trying to decide what will make #12 and then I’ll call it quits.
This is one of the only places I’ve ever seen Fierce firearms recommended. Horror stories on every message board and I’ve personally witnessed two that had to be sent back. I’d stay away.

6.5PRC is a great opening in a Tikka and you can always rebarrel later if desired. 6.5PRC and 147ELDM will be a murderer.
I agree with get a new gun. I’m not sure of that profile but it may be hard to get threaded or only be possible to do an odd ball size like 9/16 instead of industry standard 5/8x24.

Now that Tikka is offering more factory threaded options that’s the easy button. For gifgles I’d get a new caliber. 6.5PRC or Creedmoor are easy buttons. Just let a diehard 308 buddy use my 25 Creedmoor and he was impressed with the damage on a deer.

I enjoyed the Hornady podcast about bullet selection matters more than cartridge head stamp.
I finally caught Alpha 25 Creedmoor brass in stock. Bullets and the new rifle build sometime later this month.

Microtech was always a want of mine, bought one and they are meh. I have really been enjoying the last couple of ProTech knives I've bought though.
Definitely doesn't take 4 hours. Get a good bore guide, and I like the Boretech solvents. Eliminator and C4 are pretty much all you need. Get a good jag, don't forget to let some solvent soak for a bit in the throat to get any carbon ring out. Dry patches in the barrel and clean your chamber area. Probably 30 minutes at the most.
My only experience is with three people at work who had them. All had problems, 1 went through the lemon law process, second guy got tired of doing the oil consumption tests in the process of doing the lemon law with his and traded it in.

I would personally steer away until Meopta reopens a service center in the US. No planned reopening date since it closed.

I’ve had a Garmin since they’ve came out with no issues. I think it was in the Hornady podcast where they said the Garmin within 1% or something crazy of their really expensive radar chronographs.

I’ve seen a lot of app connectivity issues. I’d personally skip Athlon and their copycat and stick with Garmin.

Absolutely no need to spray that often. You’re just extending the cooking process.

Use Red hawk rifles. That's where I get my barrels.

I've ordered quite a few Bartlein from Red Hawk, steel and Carbon Fiber. Bison Tactical will also stock their ModBB from time to time I've ordered. Red Hawk does a First Responder discount as well if you qualify, no sales tax.

Bugholes (Southern Precision) should be your second stop to check on barrels. They have recurring orders from all the big makers. Don't skip on CRB either. Newer company but they are producing hammers. Using their 7mm blank and contour on my NF Challenge 7PRC this year, again chambered by Straight Jacket.

Thanks to all for the confirmation on Straight Jacket Armory. Cancelled my other order and went through them after calling. They told me 12 weeks, but they'd do what they could to pull that in, but were open that sometimes supply even makes it take a few more than the typical 12. Well got a call today to review the barrel specs once more (which I appreciated) and it's shipping today, just 2 weeks after ordering.

Not surprised Nick got it done quick. I use Straight Jacket for everything. Enough so last year I got a Christmas present from them. The look my wife gave when the gunsmith sends you a gift was an all-time glare.

re: .338 Win Mag

I want one is literally the only reason to get a 338 Win Mag. It's not needed in nearly any scenario.
Skip all of these and go directly to Austin Smokeworks. For a 300 gallon they will give you the most useable cook space. 500 and above throw in Moberg, Mill Scale and a few other Texas builders. Not sure how many meats you have to do at a time, but with high schoolers if you’re worried about fire management I’d just get a 500 to give you more wiggle room.

You can definitely get a 500 in your budget. My 500 from Primitive Pits was a little under 15k with options.

Yes, it is through the website. Just check tomorrow less than an hour before the show. Navigate to any of the may - July shows and there should be a button to click to be put into a queue or waiting room. Last time, it didn’t matter how early you got in the queue. At noon, everyone in the queue at that time will be assigned a random number for your place in line. If you are lucky enough to get a low number, you can buy up to 4 tickets per show for as many shows as you want. They are about $50-60 each I think.

If any of you get in and need a 4th person to fill out a 4 ticket purchase, I’d be happy to buy the ticket from you.

Appreciate it. I was wondering if they were set in 4 ticket sets like the VIP sections for comedy rooms were. I figure I'm trying to buy a ticket to almost any show I can at whatever the quota is. I'm determined to go lol.

You gotta make it to a show! Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon btw

Is this through the Mothership website? I have been trying to get tickets forever and can't ever seem to find out how. Been to the Mothership once, regret not buying tickets to the New Year's Eve shows at the HEB arena.
