re: Can Johnny Jones be the next Les Miles??

It's actually a pretty good comparison that I didn't consider, as long as you account for the inherent discrepancy in resources.
I'm hoping he'll be a Bruce Pearl type figure, spending his energy on building the excitement and recruiting. Except without the sanctions.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnny at a couple football games early on in the season.

Thanks for taking the time to post this, man. Good info to have.
Offseason optimism is just the best.

re: Will 2012's Lsu Football team be better than 2011?

Yes. Possibly at every position group, Safety and Defensive tackle included.

It's stories like this that make me angry when people make assumptions about Athletes. I read a similar story a couple years ago about Gilbert Arenas.
Yeah, these guys have become famous, but most of them have been through real shite.

Did Tirico really just say that Clemson just "broke the seal"?

And the six-year grad rate is 60%.
Not many people do it in four years these days at most universities.

Probably better to sell now. Prices usually go down, not up.
re: Intensity waning during long layoff for BCS-All about Bama

They article is from a site that covers Bama.
And to be fair, they've been off a full week longer than LSU.

So...
I'm guessing you haven't been to a game in a while?

re: Is this team better than last years Auburn team?

Absolutely. I also think this year's Bama is better than last year's Auburn.
re: What's wrong with Spencer

He only gets early carries when the opposing D knows we're going to pound it up the middle.
And now he gets even less as we've become less reliant on the inside zone and more prone to option it early to make the defense run around the field.
All that and Kenny Hilliard.

Ya'll do realize that quip has been around since before the SECCG? It's been on my facebook feed ever since the Alabama-AU game.
This. But it's still ballsy of Cody to say that to their newspaper.
Cody's my boy.

I remember one game when it rained over most of BR but not Tiger Stadium.
I always thought that was the origin. One time it was raining all over BR but for whatever reason the stadium stayed dry. That's the story I heard. :dunno:
re: LSU next year

Our team will be better across the board next year. The only concern I have is a championship hangover and breaking in a new QB in the SEC West. We live and die with Mett.

Wow, the coverage on the long TD pass to Blackmon was terrible. I mean, the catch was great but that ball hung in the air for a llloonnggg time. Picked off by anyone that plays in our secondary.

I wish, they'll get picked off one by one. Hopefully not all at once.
Out of the group of established coaches (Cooper, Chavis, Kragthorpe, Stud, Haley) I can only see Stud leaving. Chavis has publicly stated he is not interested in becoming a head coach, and he has a fantastic relationship with Les. Cooper has failed as a head coach and seems content to stay here and get paid a lot of money to coach the secondary. Kragthorpe has publicly stated he wants to coach QBs here for a decade. And Haley was hired here from the NFL, which is the only place I'd be worried about losing him to.
Stud I could see becoming a HC coach somewhere, and bringing the "Miles system" with him. Wilson will be a HC somewhere within three years maximum. Gonzales might not be here next year, and I am clueless about McGaughey.
