I can't speak to the crowds but it's 100% worth going to. A ton of history of the sport on top of the actual Hall of Fame. You register with your favorite school and they give you a badge with an RFID chip inside. Each time you walk up to an interactive exhibit it recognizes you and gives you school specific info.
Just got a Flash Flood Warning till 6:30pm. What's that about?

Not that it necessarily pertains to this thread, but I heard on the radio a few minutes ago that there was a wreck on the eastbound Bonnet Carre and traffic is backed up 4 miles already. I just thought it might be helpful for anyone trying to get to Nola.

News just said that was cleared up. Google maps shows a backup from the curve where everyone slows down back to the LaPlace exit. Not 4 miles though.

Burbank soccer fields looked higher than yesterday at 1pm at the houses on the right side of the fields.

Correction it's actually down about a foot at the soccer fields. Double checked the video I took yesterday compared to on the way home. You can see more of the gates at the entrance today.
Checked on a couple places on the way home.

Essen and Burbank still dry but the neighborhoods on both sides are still flooded, doesn't look like the water has moved much at all.

Bayou Fountain behind Summerwood subdivision is up maybe an 1" from this morning but that's not all that suprising after the rain. Water still flowing down stream.

Water at Burbank and Bluebonnet in front of Wendy's is down headed to Highland. Water covered both lanes this morning now just one lane is covered. Bluebonnet headed towards Burbank I couldn't tell because of traffic.

Burbank soccer fields looked higher than yesterday at 1pm at the houses on the right side of the fields.
Bayou Fountain at Summerwood subdivision is down about 1 - 1 1/2" from last night. Water still flowing down stream.
Bayou Fountain at Summerwood subdivision has been at the same level all day and still flowing down stream at a noticeable rate.
quote:

It's been like that since last night

I drove by there on Burbank around 1 and the water was across all lanes on Bluebonnet, cars were able to pass though.
No increase at Bayou Fountain in the back of Summerwood subdivision. Still flowing the right direction.

Can't get the pics to open. Have someone wanting to know about Summerwood. How's it looking?

Dry right now. Haven't been back to the Bayou since just before noon but only saw a 3/4" increase from about 4am to noon. Still had 1-2 feet before reaching the top of the bank.
Just saw a convoy of high water vehicles, humvees, air boats and boats come from Starring to Burbank and then down Gardere towards Nicholson.

Also saw a couple high water vehicles turn in towards the subdivision behind Albertsons on Burbank and Bluebonnet
Bayou Fountain at Summerwood subdivision, no change since 5pm.
Summerwood on Summer Breeze is good. Water still 1-2 feet below the bank of the bayou. Haven't checked further back in the subdivision since yesterday.
Checked Bayou Fountain behind Summerwood again, moved up MAYBE 1/4".

Windixie was flooded at 5pm this afternoon. If it's increased due to back flow it's skipped a large part of the bayou.
Bayou Fountain behind Summerwood subdivision hasn't changed levels in the last 4+ hours, just went out and checked. As of sunset you could see the water flowing downstream.

The one on Staring and the one on Plank are both for sale on that website.

Dude, really? They have been open for two days.

Most of my concerns revolved around our server, and are not things that would change whether they were open 2 days or 2 months.

As for the split checks, yes really. Its not an uncommon thing when I go out with co workers and it almost always happens when we go out for lunch. We always tip accordingly. However, 6 checks shouldn't take 30 min.

As for it being seat yourself, why have 4-5 people standing at the door greeting customers if its seat yourself? Also, if its your second day open expect to get some questions on how things operate.

Again, I plan on going back, just after giving it some time to settle in.
Went tonight with some co-workers (2 from Canada). First off the food was very good and I liked the atmosphere. Everyone had fish and chips or Shepperd's Pie and everyone was happy with their food choices. The beer list was nice, not too intimidating like the Chimes or Coves Beer Books can be if you don't know what you want. Unfortunately even though they had Bitburger (my favorite German beer) on the list our waitress came back and said the shipment hadnt arrived yet.

Now on to some of my concerns which mainly revolve around our server. When I first walked in there wasnt anyone at the hostest stand, which must have been a fluke because there were 4-5 employees there the rest of the night. But I wasnt sure if I should seat myself or wait because I didnt really even notice it at first. A few employees were walking around but none seemed very interested in seating me until I stopped one and asked them what was up. Get seated, the rest of my group shows up and our server comes over. I ask for a beer menu and she hands me a printed receipt for all their beers. Ok its the second day open I can understand maybe they dont have beer menus yet.

While Im trying to decie what beer I want one of the younger males working in the place comes to our table to refill water. I ask him if he knows the beer menu to help me make a decision, he says he doesnt "but we have Newcastle and it rocks." Ive never seen someone so excited about a beer you can get at the corner store.

Waitress leaves and comes back to take our orders. This is where the fun began. First guy orders a Vodka and Soda, she had no clue what that was, she asked if it was a beer. Next guy orders a Negra Modelo, again she has no idea what hes talking about. We finally just started pointing to the list she had given us instead of trying to say what we wanted. Drinks took probably 10 min to come out and the waitress seemed like she had never held a tray before. I thought one of the guys was going to be bathing in all our drinks at one point.

She then tries to take our food orders. She asks what the first guy wants to eat, writes it down, asks what he wants to drink, writes it down, asks what he wants to eat, writes it down, asks what he wants to drink, writes it down (no there isnt an extra set of questions there she asked the same questions twice as if she had forgotten she had already asked). We get around the table after a few more instances if this and our orders are in.

As soon as I walked in I noticed the music that was playing, mid 2000s rock. I thought it was an interesting choice but knew there was a juke box and figured it would vary as time when on. The song selection when we first sat down went like this, Linkin Park, Linkin Park, Nickle Back, Nickle Back, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach, Nickle Back, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach. At this point one of my co-workers decides to change the music up and drops some cash in to hear a Taylor Swift Song and a Weezer song. Right behind him one of the waiters/hosts/employees walks up and drops some money in as well. Next songs were Deo, Guns and Roses and another power rock song I cant remember. While these are playing hes rocking out at the hostest stand playing his air guitar, and then a little air bass. My co workers song played after 30 min.

Food comes, and as I said it was excellent. Im sad no one at our table got bangers because I really wanted to try them but Ill get them next time.

Finish eating and we ask for the checks at 8:26 we didn't get our credit cards back till 8:55. Granted we did have 6 separate checks but 30 min for from what I could tell our waitresses only table is a bit ridiculous.

Overall the place has promise, good food, good beer selection, good atmosphere and something I cant get anywhere else in town.

Cliffs Notes
*Good Food
*Good Beer once everything is in stock
*Seems like it will be a chill place to hang out

Suggestions
*Train the staff - they need to greet customers, know the food, know the beer
*Dont let waiters hang out in the front of the house
*Dont let the waiters choose the music on the juke box

I plan on going back but im going to give it a few weeks until I do so that maybe the management will have sorted some issues out.

Its actually a really good video. Spot is the most underused feature.

Ive racked up points just chillin in a hide spotting enemies even after running out of ammo.
