Also, noteworthy was Oregon St in '04. Their Kicker was dooooomed, but good on him to win the top kicker award a couple years later.

Riding back from DiNardo's football camp (were in Alex Box earlier in the day) listening on the radio in buddy's older truck. The ding of the bat & we went nuts...awesome memory. Didn't see it until a few days later.

Gotcha, yeah I suppose that makes sense considering the timeline. Many high school recruits are in the playoffs still.

I still consider Bobby Petrino an absolute weasel for the way he left the Falcons early then was Callin the Hogs that evening. But I remember he just left a note & never addressed the team.
Notre Dame was in a much better position & if they make the playoffs I would consider this close to Petrino level. But, if they don't make it I don't see it as bad.
We are biased in our assessment, but I don't really agree with him bolting on them. Then again, I don't know shite about recruiting rules/schedules etc.

I'll be there for the second week in a row (picked a cpl gems I know). But yes, no matter the mood of the season I'll keep going/tailgating/staying til the end etc.

1. "Magnolia Bowl" trophy / name of rivalry is far more contrived than the boot.
2...we just dont play for rivalry trophies, which is one reason I'm ok with The Boot. People knock on it, but it's recognizable & better than some of those Big 12 / Pac 12 ones.

Saw him at Peacemaker a couple years ago when he filled in for Turnpike. Great show, gf had never seen him & was prolly the 4th time for me. He was a pro & very engaged. :cheers:

Tix in hand, cant wait! Going with some friends who all went to see him in Little Rock in 2017 - was a Bucket List show certainly. Noone couldve imagined the end was near.
