I do find it difficult to believe les and company would be willing to take on the negative publicity that would follow bringing back TM this season.

That said - from a logic stand point, I can see them letting him come back with the understanding that he is entering the draft at the end of this season.

And while we are all day dreaming and bull shitting, I can see the SI article getting started as a "feel good" piece by request from someone in the LSU program as a precursor to TM coming back. But once Thayer hit BR, he found some "oh shite!" material.

Anyway, it's all just day dreams and fiction until team sweep takes care of business. And creates the truth for us, right?
I am literally living this scene IRL as I read this thread. The scene is much funnier in the movie.

Wonder if they'd paint my extra large Miller lite belly? Instead of a baby drinking a bottle, have a pic of Kirk kerbstreit slamming back a bottle of Mad dog?

re: Mid South Wrestling

I saw JYD take on Paul orndorff in a "anything goes" match in Monroe. Paul comes out in blue jeans and a football helmet. JYD comes out as simple ole JYD. Match ends with JYD ripping off the football helmet and putting it on and the speared Paul in the arse with it a few times. Crowd was epic.

I loved going to watch mid south wrestling with my maw maw.

does not compute.
Looks like an old/ mid-90's early 2000's Key West or maybe an old Kenner.

re: Favorite baseball movie

I've always been disappointed with most baseball movies... they never seem to live up to a real baseball game... nor do they bring in the emotional attachment that I actually have for the game.

So, the best three baseball movies for me:
The Sandlot
A League of their own
Moneyball

yeah, believe it or not, I'm not a chick - but those 3 movies really focus on how a person can really love the sport, have it let you down and still make you want to come back for more.

I love baseball, but I don't have an MLB team, so I just don't watch it for the most part, even though I would like to

Want to get attached to a team? Take a week off from work and go to Spring Training next year... visit a few ball parks and get to know the players of a few teams. Guaranteed you will make some personal connections at Spring Training that will make you want to follow a few players. Eventually, one of the teams will stick and you'll gravitate to it.

Spring Training allows you to have so much closer interaction with the teams and players - you can have a lot of fun making friends and finding a team to follow.

this.
Solid Troll attempt.

-- links selected from various sources to support the inflammatory point of view.
-- contradictory statements based on personal perception, instead of fact, e.g. "Baseball is now primarily a white trash sport." how is it you are an expert on the sport when apparently you avoid it because it is " this awful, boring sport."?
-- takes an elitist stance by offending two groups of people in one post and making gross generalizations.

Well done sir. You are obviously smarter, more interesting, and probably better looking than the 73million paid attendance for 2011 MLB games (not counting TV viewers) and the additional 5 million+ paid attendance for various Minor League games.

And yes, we are all white trash. And we're all mad.

I don't debate that at all -- I have seen this myself. However, I can attest that a bunch of poachers in North Louisiana are indeed Church Going, Beer Drinking shoot anything that moves white folk. I can also attest that there are a ton of Beer Drinking, Church Going, keep anything that bites a hook white folk on Belle River.

Poachers are scum, no matter what their ethnicity, skin color, or religion.
I've never watched a John Wayne movie... tried a few times with different movies, but end up turning it off. His voice irritates the hell out of me.

re: Awesomely horrible movies

Definitely not on par with Ron Jeremy's Alien abducted penis... but, Death Race 2000 with David Carridine and Sly Stallone was definitely a cult classic that was awesomely horrible.

When the rock jumped off the building and died I was crying laughing

Yeah, I woke my wife up because I was laughing out loud at that. She asked me what I was laughing at - so I told her. All I got in return is, 'you're dumb'.

So, I couldn't find anything on the other night, and decided to watch "The Other Guys" on Encore.

I really didn't know much about the movie, didn't remember ever seeing a commercial about it. When Samuel L. and The Rock decide to catch the thieves by taking the short cut to the bushes. (trying to be vague here to not give away the only surprise in the film).

So, anyway -- the shortcut to the bushes sucked me into watching the rest of the movie. It is so horribly good. Plenty of one-liners and over-acted comedy drama. I'm ashamed that I enjoyed it. Well, sort of.

Anyone else have a recent movie that kind of fits into that category?
