Podiatrist here....that baby needs to be avulsed. Highly unlikely in a normal healthy patient but I've had to amputate toes in diabetics who developed osteomyelitis from some pretty gnarly ingrowns...

Varsity all day...stay away from from Good Feet store unless you want to ridiculously overpay for shoes and orthotics. On Cloud, Hoka One One, and Brooks some of the more common brands i usually recommend to patients depending on if you’re looking for a neutral cushion or a stability shoe ...

I'm a podiatrist, could be a number of things but most likely a digital nerve entrapment especially if you're able to do something to recreate the paresthesias. There's a variety of conditions that can cause neuropathy other than diabetes but based on your description it doesn't sound like a neuropa...
