I know this is an LSU forum and all, but which four years would you claim those to be?
re: How tall is JJ ?

Jefferson is at least 3-4 inches taller than Lee so if he's only 6'1", Lee would have to be 5'10" or less.

yall act like kickers take brutal hits/blocks all the time and its just not true
We're talking about a kicker here, it's not like she's going to be taking the power-toss up the middle. Her chance of injury will be no greater than any other kicker, and I seriously doubt Les Miles or any other coach would put her out there if they didn't think she was capable of fulfilling all the aspects of the job.

But, you cannot dismiss the significance of the other variables and point to JL starting as the only significant change.
I was merely responding to the post about the running game not being as effective this year as it was last year to an equal point in the season. I made no claims to the starting quarterback, one way or another.

But our running game was great last year and it hasn't been as effective this year. Stats back that up.
They don't really, though. Through 3 games last year they were averaging more yards per game, that's definitely true. This year the offense has been much more balanced between the run and the pass.
Yards per game are up, points per game are up., and touchdowns to field goal ratio is better.

that both of them finish the season with 2000 yards, 14 TDS and 10 INTs,
Same stats does not equal same production or outcome.
You're question is intentionally vague, either to condition responses or in an effort to not condition responses.
If the premise is both quarterbacks operating in parallel seasons where their execution, as you put it in the op, is equal in all facets of the game, then you play Mett because he gains the most in experience. If the premise is merely that stats are equal, then you play Lee for the experience he already has.

Yeah, but at least our fans don't boo opposing players when they're hurt on the ground.

I think it's funny you say this
And then say this
More home games means more teams like Towson. If LSU weren't playing Oregon in Dallas this year, there would have been another rent-a-win on the schedule this year.

we get screwed out of a potential good/better home game
And then say this

And to make up for this bullshite, we get Towson St. next year

re: now that the smoke has cleared, JJ legit Heisman candidate?
Posted by jmath23lsu on 7/10/11 at 12:28 pm
Jefferson is a dark-horse candidate at best. There are a lot of "if's" in your scenario.
In the last 8 seasons, LSU has won 2 titles and been a legitimate contender 2 or 3 other times. Only Glenn Dorsey in 2007 finished in the top 10 of voting.
The last 3 quarterbacks to win the Heisman accounted for 4000-5000 yards of total offense and 50+ touchdowns. Regardless of improvement, I don't see LSU running the kind of offense that will allow anyone to accrue those numbers.

re: Has JJ ever engineered a game winning drive?

so my short answer is
Ole Miss 08
Arkansas 08
LSU lost both of those games, one by 18 points. You can argue the method that they lost, but a QB can't "engineer a game winning drive" in a loss.
quote:
GT 08
Don't you think the defense holding the opposing team to 3 points played a little more of a factor than Jordan Jefferson?
quote:
UW 09
I'm beginning to think you don't understand what is meant by "game winning drive."
quote:
Uga 09
I'm willing to give you this one, because if the defense had held up it wouldn't even be in question
quote:
I say no, but peeps will argue Ark 09
I'd actually be inclined to give this one to Jefferson. He had two solid drives that resulted in the points that forced overtime.
quote:
UNC 10
See UW 09.
quote:
WVU 10
First TD drive started on the 7, LSU scores on 4 straight Ridley runs. Peterson punt return for TD. Jefferson hardly factored into the victory.
quote:
Bama 10
Jefferson was the quarterback on the field for what was ultimately the go-ahead drive. 0-1 passing, no carries.
No arguments for the Ole Miss game. Jefferson played well and was a big factor in the victory.
I think the main point is that football is an ultimate team game. Giving one guy all the credit or all the blame is incredibly short sighted.

It'd be tough to explain a loss to Northwestern St. or Western Kentucky. But of the realistic loss opportunities, it would definitely be Bama, for the aforementioned tie-breaking reason.

re: Why is full frontal male nudity ok in movies now but we never see a snatch?
Posted by jmath23lsu on 5/27/11 at 12:36 pm
Well, in the instances I can think of, the male full frontal was done for comedic purposes, ie. Forgetting Sarah Marshal. There's not much humor in female full frontal.

LaFell: inconsistent and unimpressive 1st year in Carolina
Average year on a terrible team that just drafted a QB #1 overall.

Doucet: Injuries have hurt him, but really hasn't impressed much in Arizona.
Definitely bit by the injury bug, but has also been behind Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Breaston.

Bowe: Shaky start, but I think finally becoming a top-tier receiver in KC.
2 (almost 3) 1,000 yard seasons. 1 Pro Bowl. Would have been close to another 1,000 yard season in '09, but served a 4 game suspension for PEDs.
Byrd's situation is obvious and Buster Davis has been hit hard by injury.
quote:
Clayton: Great rookie year, but has pretty much vanished since.
Clayton is about the only one I'd label a bust. He's not had world beaters at quarterback, but he hasn't topped 40 catches or 500 yds since his rookie year.
quote:
Henderson: Has done well in NO, but I would pretty much place most of his success on #9's arm. Decent career, I guess.
Right on with "Decent career." Average production each year, but probably sub-par for a 2nd round pick.
quote:
Reed: The most productive receiver in LSU history, but just never got the chance to shine in Buffalo. He was in the shadow of Lee Evans, but it's conjecture to whether or not not Evans' absence would have made a difference in Reed's career. He had his fair shot.
8 years with Buffalo should be explanation enough. But an 8 year career in the NFL should be considered successful. He was a slot receiver on a team that rarely had a #2. Caught 50+ balls 3 times, 500+ yds 4 times.
