re: Some questions for you (the ticket holder) regarding paying players.
Posted by rabend1 on 10/29/19 at 8:03 pm
The NCAA and all the people trumpeting the NCAA's "amateurism" line of thought fundamentally misunderstand basic economic principles. If demand exists and people are willing to pay for something, they will pay and people will collect. For revenue sports, NCAA amateurism rules have very little to do with competitive balance and protecting the sanctity of the concept of the "student athlete." Instead, the protect member institutions' and the Association's profits.
Sorry to vent, but paying student athletes is not bad for collegiate athletics. It would be bad for athletic administrations and the NCAA because they will have higher overhead.
We will see virtually no impact on viewers or recruiting, there will just be fewer team rooms with ridiculous amenities and more athletes with some disposable income.

Wow! It really is as bad as described.
Targeting official telling Fitz to leave video?
Posted by rabend1 on 10/24/18 at 6:49 pm
I keep seeing references to an official telling Fitz to leave the game after Devin White's shove that was somehow ruled "targeting." Does anyone have video of the entire play with the officials' reactions?
Thanks

2019 RHP Farmer Abendroth

LSU commit doin work in Jupiter, Florida
Per Prep Baseball Report:
The Sox improved to 3-0 after two victories Saturday. In its 6-1 win over Team Mizuno Puerto Rico, the Sox rolled out four arms that were 89-plus, highlighted by one of the day’s bigger revelations, 2019 RHP Farmer Abendroth (Warren Central HS, MS). Although he’s committed to LSU, the lanky 6-foot-5, 170-pound right-hander isn’t a well-known name around the national scouting community.
Abendroth likely changed that with his two-inning relief stint. Extremely long and rail-thin, Abendroth worked his fastball at 90-93 mph, sitting mostly at 90-91, with angle and occasional arm-side life. While he set hitters up with his lively fastball, he put them away with a hard 12/6 curveball that ranged between 78-80 mph. Abendroth recorded four of his six outs via strikeout, all of which came off his breaking ball.
Although he’s far from a polished product, his arm is quick and athletic coming out of a high-¾ slot. There’s some effort there, but he’s under control as he threw 69 percent strikes and didn’t issue a walk while surrendering one hit. Above all, he looks as though he’s only begun to scratch the surface of his immense potential as he continues to physically develop.

I brought my 3 year old and my 1 year old. We always had an excellent time. During regular season games there is generally an area of the outfield seating that gives you some room to stretch out. Also, strollers are allowed in the stadium, and you can store them underneath the outfield bleachers. I'm not exactly sure why everyone on here hates children.

ESPN Gameplan?

What is the best way to watch LSU on Comcast in Virginia? Is ESPN Gameplan worth the $$ or should I just watch the games on ESPN3?
Thanks
