re: Alabama RHP Kade Woods Commits to LSU

Good kid. Knocked the snot out guys on football field til he sat out senior year for baseball. Pulling for him after injuries and what happened at Bama.
No you can’t. But, I felt Tanks was snapping out of a short term slump or uncharacteristic 6-7 at bats. He seemed dangerous to me and I didn’t know the backstory. Tough spot for that pitcher!
Smoke up. You admitted you were wrong and you’re forgiven and forgotten.
Right. Other than a past ball which didn’t result in a run; but also defensively. One great swing after 11 was the difference. 2 great teams…
I agree one out and runners at 2d and 3rd would have been most likely scenario if Tre isn’t running on contact. Best case is 3baseman fools around with Tre and everyone is safe, bases loaded. Either would have been better.
Wow. I don’t think Tre did screw up. He could’ve made a better slide to the outside, but I clearly took issue with the run on contact decision with no outs, runners on first and third. Only that because in 6 pages it hadn’t been mentioned. His bat kept us in the game. So, you misinterpreted pretty much everything I said.
And, I agree, it could have been one out, runners at 2d and 3rd if 3baseman just holds Tre and goes to first.
Just about every comment on this thread is partially right. But here’s the bottom line.

It came down to one play. We sent Tre home from 3b with nobody out and runners on third and first on an infield hit. If you run the bases right- that’s bases loaded, no outs. They made the play, then got a double play and made us pay for it.

No reason to do that when you’re on 3b. You stay close to the bag and if it gets through- you score! Period!

That Tre did what was coached, didn’t slide correctly, etc is all true. No outs - not the right base running call.
I understand and agree with the tribute to the man. No way. You get a playmaker like that, you build on it. No circumstances whatsoever.
This hurts us way more. J.J. was supposed to be the guy to run everything. Reps., etc.

Now, we're on the rebound with other guys that haven't taken the reps. What are you asking?
thanks for your contribution. which is nothing.

If you think we're better off, you're delusional. If you pull for J.L. then you're like me.
I'm just saying that we've got to run the ball effectively for J.L. to step in and deliver. It goes deeper b/c of our O.C. situation. It could be fine if we gash them right away. J.L. has clearly improved. If our OL has improved as much as has been talked about... we'll be ok IMO.
ok. sure you have your reasons. just seems to me that the kick to the head allegations are key, both from an invg. standpoint and a fan-moral support standpoint.
I think I know what you mean... but enlighten us.
no... in Miles' opinion, which means little here. you don't have to learn to read the tea leaves with Miles. He put a ton on J.L. b/f he thought J.J. could do it. Then he stuck it out with J.J., learning the "R.P." lesson and rightly giving J.L. time. Now, he's down to the third lesson. Hard to do 3 at one time, and this was going to be our time. He's faced a daunting QB challenge as a coach from day one... and it just keeps on going.
why would DA get a search warrant on this type of charge (a/k/a "bar fight") and confiscate shoes? Do you think 49 pairs of shoes in J.J.'s apt. starts a new improper benefits investigation? He's getting caught the way they all get caught. Once under suspicion, he didn't tell the truth to authorities and he lied about kicking the guy in the head.

Science & technology have caught up to liars in many ways. People... not so much.

I'm not saying that, and I won't say that. But, I'm disappointed in a kid's lost opportunity. A lot of us had high hopes for this year, not so much on preference for one QB or another, past performances, or the media, but from indirect coach and player talk, etc.... the idea of J.J. putting it all together, new O.C., a guy we pull for to come in when necessary...on and on.

I've already thrown my loyalty to J.L. and hope for the best. Without Ridley, or another back that will bang tackles, ends, LB's over and over again for every inch.... if our OL isn't much better on run blocking... we're in trouble. They weren't good last year. The two years before when J.J. was a SO and JR, they were awful and overrated at the same time.

If we can run the ball, I think J.L. will be okay. All I'm saying.
