40-3 2005 Peach Bowl. They haven’t been the same since.
I love the big games to start off the season. Playing in the SEC, a bad team will be exposed at some point no matter who you start with. I prefer to know what we have rather than get a false sense of greatness, remember BYU in 2017?

What would be worse is for this issue to have come up after LSU wins the game on Saturday night. Then the narrative would be that LSU won with an ineligible player.
It’s called manufacturing runs for a reason. It’s always been effective but with all the talent in todays game, many have gotten away from it.
I’ve also never heard about a defensive front talking about how soft the right side of an offensive line is and how they bout to eat during a live broadcast. Just all around crazy stuff last night.
I was at Calhoun’s as well. Felt like an LSU bar, no doubt. Outnumbered TN fans 10-1 easy. Great memories of that weekend!

I remember a lot of people saying "no chest" b/c he refused to play in the bowl game. Funny how things change so quickly. I'm with the OP on this one...don't really have an opinion but it's definitely interesting to see the sudden change.

It's more than that...it shows me how important it is to him.

Baseball Fans Outside of LA

For you Tiger fans living outside of LA, how are you planning to watch the games this season?

I'm in NC trying to figure out my best option.

Just make a rule where any player who disrupts the flow of a game is automatically out for the remainder of the series. If someone is truly hurt, they need more than one play to recover anyways. So you also have the “making the game safer” argument too.
LSU should never lose to Southern. That was a terrible lose.
If we take care of our own business, we don't have to worry about anyone else. It's a great place to be.

That means football season must be over

No, only true tigers risk losing millions for a meaningless consolation prize.

I'm not arguing about Greedy's Tigerness; however, to say the Fiesta Bowl was a meaningless consolation prize is a joke. Can you not feel the Buzz? LSU ended the season ranked 6/7. The Fiesta Bowl win giving 10 wins on the season solidified a successful season and was anything but meaningless.
I don't know if I'd say they are on the decline but when you're at the top there is only one way you can go.

I think the greater point is this. Since those aforementioned teams have fallen off, Clemson has been able to handpick their players, similar to Bama. I'm not going to say anything about their schedule, it is what it is. However, I do think the validity of your argument is they were gifted an easier recruiting process where they have taken advantage of being the one of the only destinations for a highly skilled players on the east coast. And that's to their credit.
And many said LSU was only ranked at 25 so the Miami game could be marketed as a top 25 matchup for week 1.
