wish I would have said that.

well said.

:geauxtigers:just win baby.

but why do we need a statue when the whole building is named after him.

pretty ironic question coming from a catholic. n'est pas? I see no reason why a statue of Pete would be inappropriate. a building is just that....a statue to the memory of 'the Pistol' would lend a personal touch to those who saw him play and, more importantly, to those who would strive to emulate his unique passion and discipline to the game. Daddy Dale was the real deal. A total American Original. I will always revere him,

the frickn' truth....for LSU hoops, it was the best of times. here's to JJ bringing it back and keeping it back. LSU, if it wants to, has the capacity to be elite in football, basketball, baseball and track.

I feel less confident as that list goes down, but confident nonetheless

IMO, the oline and dline kids are paramount to the success of this class and our future. we get the three kids from florida/texas and I'm a happy camper. doesn't mean I don't want Young and Dupre any less....I just covet the big nasty's who do the heavy lifting and either make it happen or keep it from happening. like your confidence.

I think we finish with : Derrick Kelly Jr - OT Florida LINK Travonte Valentine - DT Florida LINK Trey Lealaimatafao - DT Texas LINK Emmanuel Porter - WR Texas LINK Kenny Young - LB Louisiana LINK Malachi Dupre - WR Louisiana LINK

that's a lot of booms dude....a finish like that would go a long way to easing the pain of some of the earlier losses. only time will tell.

I'm over waiting on LA kids. You want in? Fine, commit. You don't? Well, guess what, we're moving on.

couldn't agree more. Louisiana always has it's share of talent but it, by a long shot, is not the only tree bearing fruit. our historic success has been predacated by the fact that we have, under Miles, developed a strong national footprint and our logo is respected, not just by Louisiana coaches, but by coaches nationwide. kids, their parents and mentors see our unprecedented nfl early entry success rate and they know that they will get full support and prep for whatever path they take. Miles will continue to recruit Louisiana kids with vigor and integrity but unfortunately, for some Louisiana kids, integrity is not a word they understand or a way of life they embrace.

It is fair to be upset with losses and to be critical of errors,

problem is the people who demand perfection don't have a clue how to achieve it and simply refuse to give credit to the other guy.

quote:

We all know the guy who goes off on Les every time football is discussed at a gathering. That guy is replicated in every town in the region 100x over. That guy is hurting our ability to keep in-state talent. That guy is helping knock down the fence.

the fricking truth. the continuous and pathetic staff and player bashing by many of the "worlds' best fans" does as much, or more, harm to LSU than anything our competitors and conference can devise. it's like a cancer...it destroys from within. good post.

:geauxtigers:
the Recruiting Board "knows drama."

to your point....yes. we all know that championships are won and lost on NSD and with the glut of in-state talent and with the black hole two states to the east the class of '14 has been full of booms and not-so-booms. seaux it geauxs....we will move forward with the kids that "have the want" to be LSU Tigers....and that's good enuff for me.

:geauxtigers:

His last 2 classes at LSU were light in olinemen. That's why we had some guys move from the defensive side of the ball. It caught up to us in 08.

I can barely remember back that far. of course, we only need to look in the near past to truely understand what saban learned from those years. I know a lot of folks want LSU to be known as DBU....but, frankly, if we were known as OlineU many of our past disappointments wouldn't exist. JMO.

:geauxtigers:

LSU's 'bread and butter' has been the top 12-15 in-state recruits. I would love to see this continue, but if the in-state recruits feel their 'pot-of-gold' is in Florida or Texas or California or Alabama, LSU should try to convince out-of state recruits their 'pot-of-gold' can be found in Louisiana.

truth....since saban and especially with Miles our national footprint is established and flourishing quite nicely. we're in a lot better shape than many of the nega's think. yeah...it's a bite to lose kids to bama and tam but the reality is they are quality programs with quality coaches and now that we are flanked recruiting-wise it will always be a battle to keep our share. seaux it geauxs.

:geauxtigers:

Bama. especaially on the O-line and D-line.

hate to say it, but this is where natchams start and finish. saban knows it and it is the reason why CLM went out and got Grimes. when CRob committed to bama he, essentially, punched Studs ticket to ride.

Your thoughts

I like bacon....a lot.

to your point, the '11 team deserves that ranking by the criteria set forth. the fact that it's accomplishments were disrespected by a corrupt system in no way diminishes my appraisal of and respect for what that team and staff accomplished. best year ever...we did it...nuff said.

good point and it could work if needed....whenever his named is mentioned the word "mauler" soon follows.

:geauxtigers:

2011: Offense = C Defense = A+

offense....that offense cranked with lots of help from a very opportunistic defense led by Brockers in the middle and TM7 taking what he wanted. the run game devestated people and our passing game was better than most give it credit for. you omitted Special Teams which, IMO, was a huge factor for field position and putting points on the board. good post.

it should have been secured better...look, I love JC as much as anybody and he gave us everything that he had and no one hated that happening more than he did. facts are, he secures the rock and scores and it is a different game. not saying it cost us the game...but it would have been a different game with, possibly, a different outcome. JC will always be one of my favorite Tigers.

:geauxtigers:geaux JC, make us proud...and make your future.
nice story, I know people who have done it and I know there are children all over the world who need help. I also know there are children of all colors a lot closer than East Africa who need the help just as much. bottom line....they did a good thing and I wish Jada, the Grimes family and the birth mother the best.

:geauxtigers:

Can't overemphasize how huge it is that he decided to stay

this...unknown qb, young receivers, no proven super-star rb so we're going to need a dominant oline if we want to exceed ten wins. plus, his staying mitigates the loss of CR by giving us another year to prepare or find a suitable replacement.

He can anchor an OL that will be desperately in need of experience.

huh?

:geauxtigers:

They were a legitimate top 10 program this year.

yes, they had a top 10 finish this year....one year does not make a top 10 program, IMHO. yeah, I know....semantics. whatever we call them, they had a damn good year and they deserve the credit. only time will tell about the rest.
