The Holland films have always been solid but this was finally Peter on his own. No Avengers, no Stark tech, no friends or family, just Peter on his own trying to save the city.

Did we watch the same movie?

The punisher was in this movie more than stark was in homecoming. He also went to Bruce banner for help on the inhibitor chip.

Even the surprise villain was a world building character for the mcu

They even give him an unnecessary suit AI again just to resemble iron man

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie but this was not the "bare bones" spiderman movie people were hoping for after NWH

Genuinely one of the most fricked up movies I've ever seen

Are people here loving this movie as much as the box office suggests they would be?

Its good but still has that signature marvel tone
She looks like the dude who played rorschach

What a completely forgettable movie
Damn if dune 3 does well zendaya might be in back to back to back billion dollar movies

Queen shite
Did anyone else pop when kraven and morbius showed up

The universe Sony built is insane
So did the hulk remember peter? I wasn't sure how to interpret that scene

Both
movies made over $700million over 10 years ago.

You're telling me fricking Captain marvel grossed more than both Garfield Spiderman's

frickin brutal. Wtf was Sony doing

I have a theory that he's very lonely and just wants people to talk to

It’s a Sony movie and 23+ years of box office proves Spider-Man doesn’t need the MCU

Why is Sony giving a quarter of their earnings to marvel/disney if they don't have to
Yeah they fund most of the movie and give marvel the creative lead

There's a reason the guy who was supposed to direct kang dynasty directed bnd
It's a Sony and marvel co production but we all know who runs the show

Most unrealistic part of the movie is a NY landlord having a gigantic attic that he just lets a tenant use for free
How the frick do you mess up a spider man universe so badly? Like seriously Sony should be thanking God for the partnership
quote:

Oh yeah Jean did some pretty messed up stuff

She had a guy get hit by a car and peter doesn't even check on him. One of the most out place sequences in a spider man movie

So did marvel pivot from brie larson to florence pugh for the female face of the MCU?

Yelena seems to pop up in a bunch of stuff meanwhile Captain marvel isn't even slated to appear in doomsday
I think the most interesting part is that her name was not mentioned in any of the rumors for x men casting

Probably means a lot of these "leaks" are inaccurate
How many actors can see they were leads in 2 movies that made a billion dollars in back to back months

Spider-Man is the most relatable super hero and they've done a good job with him in the MCU.

I don't think they've done a great job at showing a struggling relatable peter parker tbh. Even in this one he's got a giant apartment and a high tech computer
