You've lost your mind. Our "great" defense isn't great anymore due to some severe injuries on that side of the ball. Combine that with offensive problems we've had all year and I'd say that injuries played a major part into this season's failure along with coaching.

Uhh. Our defense was never "great" and it's not because of injuries.

He is probably just trying to get Auburn to pay him more than their initial offer.

You MUST be kidding. Those comments, coming from a Bammer, are he-larious.

Shocking news.

The only way he will leave AU is in a pine box.

I may be wrong but I think they have a 0% chance of getting Muschamp. He don't wanna coach in the SEC IMO. He'll be the HC in Texas in a few years probably.

Rodman, I don't know if I worded it weird, but I was talking a/b last year. You are saying he wasn't offered the job last year?

Tommy WAS NOT offered the job by UA.Sexton being Sexton and it worked. Now we have a coach, with a large buyout, that absolutely needs to be replaced and wont be without someone forking up the cash.

Moreno and Caddy are from the same mold. It gives me flash backs watching Moreno play, esp the way he hops up right after the tackle.

Dec. 21, 2008:
Saban: "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the University of Washington coach. ... I don't control what people say. I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."
I would love nothing more than to crush their spirits and send LSU to the SECCG, at home for that matter, come 11/29.

Does tubby give Auburn a "mutual" agreement like that of Tommy Bowdon and clemson?

IMO…even if AU loses out in SEC Play…Tuberville has earned the right to be given a chance to turn things around next season….

Please. You people are the problem with our fanbase. Bunch of pussies that will keep praying that Tub'que will pull one out of his arse again.

I hope every 'fan' like you heads out the door when Tub'que is gone at the end of the season. Also, please take those that are just happy with beating Bama year in and year out with you, too.

re: Am I correct?

I cannot believe you all are afraid of friggin' Bama. If any school is a lucky as them, I'd like to know whom.

They are NOT a good football team and were lucky as all hell to get out of Knoxville with a 'w'.

re: The Failed Experiment

Posted by wartiger on 10/27/08 at 3:04 pm
Not trying to cause an issue because believe me I hate CO anything and that's what we've been dealing with in Tub's and Co.

Simply saying, those "Proven" DC's come with a price tag and they could've been all gone by the time Miles made the call.

Miles probably thought they new Bo's system well enough from coaching under him. He more than likely wont make the mistake again.

Who else would you have recommended? They had staff experience, etc. Tenuta? Was he locked up and signed?
Maybe Miles made a silly choice, but LSU has had success with them last year.

Make no mistake about it, just like Auburn and just like Bama, those head coaches are the DC's despite whom they have on staff. They have heavy imput on the schemes. At some point, you just can't go out and get a proven DC because of cost and other factors (desire to be HC, etc). Taking a chance on a unproven or promoted coordinator (hello Bob Stoops, Richt, Mike Gundy).

LSU from the recruiting standpoint and slacking off is a bit silly. LSU has the PICK of the litter in LA, plus they have the hardware to prove success when going out of state.

Not all is well, but let's not throw the guy under the bus yet. Two pretty powerful offenses have done damage, but that does not mean that all is lost.

Just beat Bama.

re: Is it coaching or talent loss?

Posted by wartiger on 10/27/08 at 2:34 pm
As an outside observer, it's certainly not talent. It's a scheme/coaching issue.
