Thanks. Went to Brazos today. They only have boards. They used to carry more before the 2016 flood but no longer do. Bought some birch that I'll glue together. Still on the hunt for whole log pieces. Thanks for the recommendations....

Looking to do my first lathe project (bowls). Most of the lumber I'm seeing on Craigslist is cypress and expensive (~$4 for board foot). Any idea where to source lumber in BR that's good for a first timer (e.g. walnut, hickory, etc.). Also, know where to source tupelo. Would that be a decent wood...
