At this point, LSU can’t afford Not to fire him. He will cost the program even more next year. I can’t imagine the PMAC being more dead than it is now.

Do you have insider information? I thought Verge just wants to shut the program down. According to people here, his recent interview intimated he was keeping MM for another year. I’d almost prefer just shut it down until the money is right to get another coach.

I don’t understand these people that speak this as absolute. He may not come back but to say it’s impossible is naive. The new administration, BOS and governor would welcome him back as of the majority of the fan base. The questions in my mind are does WW want to come back and could the boosters make the money work.

That is good news. Hopefully true. Another point about firing MM mid season is it will cause a lot of distraction for WW. (Much like the Kiffin situation did). If WW is the guy, orchestrate everything now, fire MM after the SEC tournament (or NIT) and name WW when his season is finished.

Contrary to the belief of a few mouth breathers on here, this is the sentiment of most fans. Season ticket sales would explode and the PMAC would be rocking. The money his hire would generate alone will likely offset MM buyout and higher salary for WW and NIL.
