We got the Coach O. We gonna win all the titles and take all the recruits. We never lose a game forever now that we got the Coach O.

re: If Stoops is hired....LSU is done.

For real. I don't even want to hear this crap. Mike Stoops as our defensive coordinator makes me throw up in my mouth. Especially after spending the last few days thinking about how much of an upgrade it would be to get CP and Bebe. Getting stoops would be a big regression. Rather than just blowing games in the last two minutes, we would do it from the start. Oklahoma is trying to get rid of this dead weight; why in the hell would he even be considered for this job?

Any help out there? Thanks in advance, :geauxtigers:

re: LSU TE development under Coach Steve Ensminger 2010-present

I don't have anything pithy to say. I just wish we would let Steve go and let Henry coach both receivers and tight ends. Then hire a dedicated qb coach as well who can help qb development.

re: Record after trailing in 4th quarter
Posted by tigeradam on 9/1/14 at 4:28 am
This is a great stat. Thanks for sharing!
The most interesting thing looking back are the 3 games since 2005 when he did not trail in the 4th Quarter (i.e. gave up a lead and went into overtime). 2005 Tennessee (OT), 2007 Kentucky (OT), and 2012 Clemson Chick Fil A (FG at buzzer). Les won every other game where he did not trail entering the 4th quarter.
2008 to 2010 was also a fluctuation upward of those types of games and there have been less in the periods of 2005 to 2007 and 2011 to now. If you cherry pick and held out 2008 and 09, Les is 18-12 in games where he trailed in the 4th quarter, or 60%. In 2008 and 2009, he was 4-9, or 30.7%. Last year was not a good year for these types of games, with Arkansas being the only win.
2005 Trailing in the 4th: 3 wins, 1 losses
2006 Trailing in the 4th: 2 wins, 2 losses
2007 Trailing in the 4th: 4 wins, 1 loss
2008 Trailing in the 4th: 2 wins, 5 losses

2013 Trailing in the 4th: 1 win, 3 losses

Ok, it seems like we go through this every year, but here is the rule and the reason why an O-lineman will never wear #18.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. I've seen people just give a blanket statement that linemen can't wear #s outside the range, but hadn't seen the cite to the actual rule.
Agree on the new tradition with linemen.

I am always unsure whether a offensive lineman can't have singles or teens. The NCAA rule book "strongly recommends" certain numbers for some positions, including offensive line.
LINK
Rule 1 Section 4 Article 1 recommends numbering as follows for offensive players;
Backs 1–49
Center 50–59
Guard 60–69
Tackle 70–79
End 80–99
"Strongly recommend" is different than "shall" or other mandatory language. And it's clear that other players at skill positions don't abide by their guidelines: (ie Dupre is #15, Beckham was 3, etc.)
Like I said, I don't know. There may be some other rule I don't know about, but I think it would be cool for Collins to get #18.
