Because it was the first Saturday that the band didn't play there to see if the students would correct themselves.
Pretty sure that the University will do whatever it can to avoid fines from the vulgar student section...

I didn't say the reveille said anything about the piped music ... just the O-WE-O chant, which is why the piped music was put in as a filler.
The SG President seems to care about the chant, and the university cares about the unsportsmanlike conduct. nipping that will nip the pipedness.

Because the students want the O-WE-O chant back, the band had to not play where that space usually was in order to see if the students got rid of their cheers that the university and the band itself does not want to be a part of.
It seems like they succeeded (the students). There was nothing bad or unsportsmanlike coming from them during this time...a huge improvement!
Either for the Bama game or the game following, the Band will (most likely) try out playing the O-WE-O cheer that was banned last year.
The Piped music will stop... hopefully never again will it return.
These shots were called by the Student Government President, the band department staff, and the Chancellors office. The piped music I'm sure was done by Athletics that really had no idea why the band wasn't playing or just wanted to fill the time.
Zombie nation .... hopefully never again. Awful, and embarrassing ...

Where exactly were you sitting?! I was in it, and it was NOT pumped the whole game.. maybe for about 1/4th of it... it does not impress me at all. go back to 2003 vs UGA, and 97 vs Florida ... those two sets of Student Sections were good much better... MUCH better. Oh yeah, they weren't nearly as fair weathered either.

Our D problems were present last year too. Remember when Lee Corso called out our D as a fraud? He was right. Everyone was mad about it, but he was right. It needs some help big time. My opinion is to get an NFL DC. Put the job out there the day after the Arkansas game, and make sure everyone knows about it... ever NFL coach - everyone. We need someone that will get our boys in shape, and know a thing or two about pass coverage.

sucks yes, but honestly I don't except any higher. Our D is ripped to shreds... We need to find an NFL caliber DC that will coach us ... we needs something huge that will be different there.

I KNOW that in the past it was not as bad as "eff you Spurier" and "tea bag tebow" not to mention the you suck mess and the little word they put in there for the USCe game last year. I've been going to games for about 12 years, and I've never heard them this bad, and my seats are right next to the student section. We've had to protect our heads in the past from flying cups, and you hear cursing but not in mass chant. It's never as bad as what it was last year.

ya'll are in luck actually. In light of winning the Indiana Jones competition, the Tiger Band will be featuring a movie theme next week with Batman, Iron Man, James Bond, and Indiana Jones.
Look for cool things on the field, and listen for the themes that you recognize!
