They had no intention of going for it before we jumped the first time. They probably had no intention of going for it until we jumped a second time. To do so would have been colossally stupid and deserving of immediate firing regardless of the outcome.
What they intended to do was draw us offsides and get a free play with nothing to lose. You could see it in Trinidad’s body language that he was aggravated they stopped the play. If they convert, great. If they don’t, they kick. THAT was smart. That was their plan.
And then we teed it up for them at the 1 foot line, and THAT was dumb.

They got off the line and took off. We didn't notice until we woke up in the morning. While we hunted that day, the guide went to round up the mules. They were as far as 30 miles off, but he got them all. They walked down the mountain, to the highway, and were on their way home. That feat was almost as amazing to me as the hunt itself.

My mailperson is a model of efficiency . She came up with this interesting idea to delegate mail delivery by just dropping random shite in our mailbox for several houses around the neighborhood. Then we go deliver the mail where it was supposed to go and say hi to the neighbors. Our neighbors do the same for us.
It probably saves the maillady 45 minutes of work per day.

That's why they were "dropping" 8 and why they were able to stop the run even though they were doing so. They had 8 in "coverage," but not really - they were still able to play the run. There was literally no threat of any pass beyond 10-12 yards. We couldn't even run the defenders out of the play and run behind them. It was so obvious Nuss was hurt and ineffective.

While this is true, Saban has publicly stated leaving LSU was a huge mistake. I'm sure he told Lane even more than that in private. Given the choice between starting his own run at LSU or remaining in Saban's shadow at Bama and being forever compared to Saban's success as a measuring stick, the decision would probably have been easy.

Not really, but we should definitely have meetings and issue press releases about considering our options.
