USA should make the knockouts

But the new format is where their group is a problem. With most 3rd place teams advancing, you'd rather have a top heavy group with a minnow that will finish in 4th. The USA group is very balanced and with some draws it's not hard to be competitive and finish in 4th place while another 3rd place team that wasn't as good will move on for beating up a minnow.
Vegas will still draw tons of away NHL fans even if Knights aren't good. TMobile seems like a great arena and is literally connected to the strip.
Look at Carolina getting that Vegas bounce for the ENG
What a finish by Staal on the ground second try
I didn't think he was going to get to it
Vegas's chances always seem dangerous, even if they're not getting many shots

Despite that, 3 goals on 12 shots cannot happen for Bussi. Just not good enough.
How tf does mark stone keep getting breakaways he’s the slowest skater on both teams

I understand his frustration. Maybe even more so after winning an Olympic Gold Medal with team USA.

He hasn’t even gotten to play in an NHL playoff game. Red Wings went from the longest streak ever of consecutive playoff appearances to now being the team with the longest playoff drought since Buffalo finally made the playoffs this year.

He did kind of live the dream hockey scenario for a kid from Michigan. Gets to play youth hockey in Michigan. Plays a year for the university of Michigan. Then gets drafted by the hometown Red Wings.

Completely understand the frustration. The Wings blew playoff spots the last two years and have done NOTHING via trade or free agency to get better for a while now.
Larkin did play in playoffs his rookie year, then nothing since.

I just find this to be a potential landmark moment for the NHL here - where a player (captain!) is demanding a trade and because of no-movement can pick his team and limits to the only good contending teams that have their own cap issues. All while destroying his current and hometown team. This could get ugly, even moreso than the Quinn Hughes thing.
I was wondering how this thread got to 3 pages in a day

Now I know

I know not playoffs, but best place to post this

Dylan Larkin (~9 million cap hit for multiple years into contract) captain of Red Wings requested a trade with a full no-trade clause, now says he only wants to go to Florida, Minnesota, or Vegas

This is about the worst possible lineup in CWS for LSU fans

USC suddenly good again and Texas - threatening to make our quest for most championships even more difficult

Bama, Ole Miss, UGA too
Oof
Gotta pull for WVU and Troy
Glad to hear he’s okay now but twice - that’s a nope

He’s 34, has made his money, time for coaching or retirement
That was shittiest winner this game could have
So lame
Both teams had ~2 good chances that OT
I’ve missed everything in this game except the first two called back goals and Carolina last goal
wtf I went to put kids to sleep at 0-0 and now 4-0?
Those highlights were rough for Andersen - pull him now
Both legit calls you could tell how quick the reviews are
Just turned on at 1-1 to see Germany score and boy was that easy
Tana is pretty good and easy to access if you live near Old Metairie. I like the variation in Italian food compared to the usual red sauce places.

I was wondering what all the construction was after going a few weeks ago. Not sure what they're going for with this - the main dining room capacity was reduced by about a third and it looked messy in there.
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Some instrumental guitar guys - Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani
Geoff Tate

Metallica - James and Robert sound good, that's it. Kirk has completely mailed it in and Lars is also terrible. Still love the energy of their shows but considering now they only play 60k+ arenas and Kirk barely shows up anymore, I don't consider them in this category.
Would love Portugal to win it
It seems Spain and France are the betting odds and best teams going in
I think France does it
That was coming, Carolina dominated the first few minutes there

That 1st line needs to get going as they've done nothing all playoffs, maybe this is a start
