re: Olde Oaks in Bossier…

Not to keep piling on - played Olde Oaks yesterday afternoon and OP is right. The only green decent is 4. Literally 40-50% grass /weeds on every green.

Said I wouldn’t come back last time a few months ago and only went cause it was so late and it’s close. Plus $26 for 9 holes - big problem.

I will say when I called the pro shop I asked them if there was any improvement, and she said honestly NO. She wasn’t lying Lol

At the rate this course is going I wouldn’t be surprised if they are closed within a year
Grew up out here and played - even had a nice clubhouse and pool that had swim lessons every summer.

Now it’s owned by a local food producer supplying organic beef, chicken, eggs, pork etc to restaurants and retail.

Also - played olde oaks Sunday - absolutely terrible.

On the flip side played trails End in Arcadia and it’s in great shape. Also played Northwood Hills in Blanchard Saturday- decent but many tee boxes and rough fairways has not keen cut in days
Eastwood Country Club in Haughton. Was a 9 hole course
what is the guest green fee? me and my son would be interested in going in the future.

Reed left to take director role at Southern Trace. He had things going in the right direction at Olde Oaks. Unfortunately most of that progress is gone within a few months. Not sure if its labor, equipment, or budget issues but Olde Oaks can barely keep the grass cut. Its a shame because Olde Oaks is probably the best layout / course that is public - but needs a massive influx of money to get it back to where it was 20 years ago.

played Tierra Verde in Arlington back in may. Great track.
I have been hooking my irons for a while now. For the past week have been practicing with a more neutral grip on both hands - yesterday played 9 holes and 85-90% of my iron shots went straight.

now if i can figure out how to hit my driver straight lol.

Same. Played about a week ago after they said they sprayed the greens and could not tell the difference.

so we tried out crooked hollow in greenwood this past weekend and its a nice little course. greens overall were in good shape.
if you jumped it and ran for 45 minutes its not the alternator. If you have a multimeter you can test the battery yourself.
If they still offer the paid for pregame stadium tour and pregame batting practice i highly encourage that.

I did it for my son several years ago - he was able to get an autographed ball and card from both Altuve and Bregman. They were all very friendly and several came to the seats to talk and sign autographs.
ARKK -43%, Target -45.5%, and Big 5 Sporting Goods -59%.

Painful. BGFV was one of my best picks for awhile and then it crashed. Figured Arkk and Target was a stable pick - i was wrong.
Its ridiculous. Progressive policy renewed in May - 100/300/100 coverage on two newish vehicles and liability only on my sons late 90s truck. He has an at fault accident. $650 a month.

re: I'm dreading filing taxes this year

After further looking at the tax code we found that our software company has an error for LA tax filing. Supposed to be updated by the 26th so we will see how it shakes out.
State of LA changed tax code as well. They lowered the percentage but also did away with the federal tax deduction. They claim that tax payers who do not itemize will pay less in state taxes and those that do itemize will pay more. However so far what we have seen is those tax payers are paying more even when they take the standard deduction. Lots of folks going to be wondering why they owe the state when they never have in the past.
go to the Pit Room. even if you have to drive.
