Where would you invest next?

Posted by Daygo85 on 12/10/24 at 11:04 am
Hypothetical. You are contributing fully to your employer provided 401k pretax. You are maxing out your Roth IRA post tax. What would be your next move for retirement funds? 5 years to retirement.

I'll hang up and listen.
OK. Fall is here. Anyone know if this place will re-open?
What is a ballpark price for annual maintenance?

Thin blade grass looks like centipede. You will know for sure at the first hint of a frost because it will be DEAD. Also, if you take a picture with your phone Google will tell you all about your grass or other flowers/plants.

Good luck.
Not sure what kind of grass you have but I have Bermuda. Spraying the entire yard for VBW and Dollar weed with 2-4-D does it for me.

Two tickets for LSU vs USC at Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas. Selling for face value of 336 for both. Selling because I can no longer go. If interested email btompkins67@gmail.com.

Not sure about Hulu but Netflix will not run if it senses an VPN. You may want to test before leaving.

Calling Excel Gurus

Posted by Daygo85 on 6/26/24 at 9:42 am
OK here goes. Sometimes it is necessary to go through an exported spreadsheet that has hundreds of columns. But let's say only 25% of the columns have data I am interested in. But every single column has a top row header with data in it. Is there a quick and efficient way to delete all columns that have data in the first row but nothing below that first row? Highlighting each column and manually deleting is just not feasible.

TIA

Stop pop up tabs in Edge!

Posted by Daygo85 on 6/18/24 at 11:57 am
Hello all. I have Googled, researched, and tried every possible setting in the Edge browser but cannot extra advertising tabs from popping up. Any idea of good safe third-party software that will stop this?

Take your gross salary and multiply by 15%. Invest that and NEVER touch it. Live off the rest.

MSMA and 2-4-D are your friends.
Well. Easier in the aspect as you know more that you did when the first kid was born. But harder in the aspect of you and your spouse are never getting away along again until the kids move out. You can find a grandparent to keep one kid for the weekend. But a five year old and a one year old. Good luck.

Common bermuda? Is the front getting full sun and the back partially shaded? If it's not as full in the back because of partial shade I don't think that dropping more common seed is going to do anything to help.

Absolute same amount of sun/shade. :dunno:

Reseeding Bermuda

Posted by Daygo85 on 4/30/24 at 9:06 am
For you Bermuda grass gurus out there. My Bermuda grass is about two years old now. Growing well in the front yard but not as full in the back. What is your opinion of dropping more grass seed as this seems to be the time of the year to do it. And will I need to water everyday?

TIA
Buying any riding mower boils down to one thing over the long hall, maintenance. If you DIY, can you get the parts you need and how easy is it to maintain? If you like service how reliable is a dealer you can access?

Once you spec it out, any zero turn can cut grass. But keeping them running is where the happiness lies.
Definitely recommend getting all the way down to dirt. Spray the entire yard with round up. Get ALL the old grass out. Then make sure you have good drainage by bringing in more dirt and leveling. Then spread bermuda seeds. Or if money is no option put down sod.

Next you will need to learn how to fertilize and keep weeds away. Bermuda is easy to keep up once you get past the learning curve.

You really think you will never need MSMA again? Will need to be used regularly.

To where did you send this soil test? Your local county agent?
