re: Arkansas is the 3rd best team in the country

Pointless argument because Arkansas looked like a JV squad against LSU and Alabama. Besides, it took 4th QTR miracle against to squeak past A&M.
Anyways, Arkansas is 4th best in the SEC. Georgia would beat Arkansas this year.

It will be Rube. 5 catches, 147 yds, 2 tds burning the overrated Alabama secondary.

Best all time.
re: LSU recruits reason for choosing the tigers?

Have you every played NCAA Football, Dynasty mode? There are lots of reasons
1. It's where the best players go to play.
2. SEC is best conference in the country. NFL prep.
3. 100,000 fans at every game. rich tradition
4. Bowl games, perks. Players get Ipads, Xbox, PS3
5. Coaching, coaching strategy.
Why else would a guy like Russel Shephard come to LSU? He could have gone to a dozen other programs and been "THE GUY". He didn't care that Gary Crapton was the OC or that Les Miles wanted him to run end-arounds and WR screens.

re: Confirmed: Miles Names Kragthorpe Offensive Coordinator

Whats your rationale?
Kragthorpe took a bad TU program with no fan base and laid the foundation for Todd Graham. LSU has a great program with the best fans in the country. It will be exciting to see what we do next year.
As long as Kragthorpe remove's those read options for our playbook, I'll be happy.

I concur; LSU let down following the 'Bama bashing. Milk was a bad choice.
9/11/10 - Ark 31, ULM 7.
10/2/10 - Aub 52, ULM 3.
11/13/10 - LSU 31, ULM 13.

We wasted a time out to draw up this masterful play! Send Crowton back to the Ivy league!
re: Miles on Peterson: "Yes, we've considered (him) for the wildcat"

Why wouldn't we play Shephard at QB? He can't throw downfield, but we don't call any downfield passes. He is a viable option QB. Heck stick RS, PP and Ridley back there. Run the ball all over the Vols

Dear Offensive Coordinator Crowton:
Jordan Jefferson can't run the option or the option read. Quit calling them. Let Shephard run the option if you run it at all. It didn't work at LaTech or Oregon and it didn't work at BYU (One good season in 01' doesn't count).
You should be fired. You have the most talented players in the nation and you get nothing out of them (106th ranked offense).
I'll leave you with a Bear Bryant (i know its bear, but our winning-est coach of all time studied under bryant)quote that should inspire:
"I think the most important thing of all for any team is a winning attitude. The coaches must have it. The players must have it. The student body must have it. If you have dedicated players who believe in themselves, you don't need a lot of talent."
We do have talented players! We need talented coaches!

ChaD Jones should have stayed. Would have had a wicked secondary next year.
re: Will Russell Shepard ever be the starting QB at LSU?
Posted by bjones10 on 1/28/10 at 12:56 pm
Jefferson will be QB next two years. He will not leave early after next year. We will be title contenders with Jefferson at QB.
If JJ goes down, then Shep will have reps. Lee is on his way to a lucrative HS football coaching career.

PAC 10 defenses versus the SEC defense?

re: Janzen is a a Vol

Vols win a few recruiting wars and they think they should be considered in the elite of the SEC. What they did win was the scorn of the entire SEC. I think Kiffin and the VOL's are on everyone's hitlist.
Who knows what kind of booster money or lies Kiffin promised players but it must have been worth it. Picking a 5-7 squad who has gone downhill since 1998.

re: Pick 6 record
Posted by bjones10 on 11/17/08 at 9:52 am
I dont think it is an official stat either. Seriously, we should just spot our opponents a touchdown before the game starts. THere is some connection between having the worst defense in 10 years and all the turnovers. Jlee throws a touchdown for the other team every game.
Pick 6 record
Posted by bjones10 on 11/17/08 at 9:38 am
Does anyone know who holds the collegiate record for throwing the most interceptions returned for touchdowns in a season by a starting quarterback? John Reaves, University of Florida, threw 9 interceptions in one game against Auburn in 1969.
