Shut the frick up. You clearly spend very little time in airports if you don’t understand why this would potentially be a huge pain in the arse for even semi frequent flyers.
That being said, I’ve got zero issues with it for disability assistance, elder care and like a poster said, helping a spouse out that’s flying with young children. Those instances do not occur often enough to be a problem.
You older posters reminiscing about your old days are failing to realize how rare air travel was for many people in your time. In this greyhound of the skies era, this could potentially be terrible.
