re: When did the Audubon annual membership double?
Posted by Bistineaubengal on 11/29/25 at 11:24 am to TigerTatorTots
We used to visit the zoo and aquarium often using the Taylor Scholars Awards Program for Louisiana students.
The program was for 6-12 students who made the EOY honor roll.
A student card allowed 1 student with 2 parents in free. We usually bought 1-2 tickets for other family members and always spent money in the park on souvenirs and food.
The program has been scaled back to one child and one parent in January, February, and August. It has one family free day for 4 (zoo only) on August 1st, ugh.
Haven't been back in a while, but many families used and enjoyed this program.

If you’re wealthy, there’s basically three types of family members you will have.
Ones that love you for who you are and enjoy spending time with you, and truly love you, but deep down inside, expect some inheritance from you.
Ones that don’t really love you, but treat you well because they’re hoping to get some inheritance if they kiss your arse enough.
And lastly, ones that don’t like you and treat you like shite, but still expect some inheritance because “they’re family
Don't forget the ones who walked away because you treated them like shite. They don't want or expect a thing from the parent.

Illegals must be driving these sand trucks for O&G as well. We've had 5+ flip over in a few months time. All around the same area.
There is no way in hell they passed a CDL test.

Every day from my front porch, I watch the pair of Hawks that live on my land. Every evening, I see a beautiful own perched in one of my trees. And every night i see fireflies.
Having no neighbors definitely has its benefits.
Observed an uptick in fireflies and frogs this year. We've had a bunch of rain this spring, everything is out in the yard eating in the morning and afternoon. We look outside more than watching tv.
Unfortunately, we are getting more and more neighbors. A few acres is not enough, but it is still peaceful, for now.

You don't.
Wait until they qualify for some type of disability. They will cut most family off with quickness when they no longer need anything.

Worth noting again that screwing with neighboring property drainage isn’t even a building code issue necessarily and doesn’t have to be in order to be recoverable. You cannot impede or make worse the drainage or natural flow of water on a neighboring piece of property under general property law in LA
This. A relative of ours is having a similar problem.
Their neighbor totally changed the landscape and natural drainage of their lot-without a permit from the parish. Waiting to see how the parish will handle it.

Better scholarship opportunities at out of state schools. TOPS has made LSU lazy in terms of rewarding the best students with scholarships.
Several in state schools post their basic freshmen merit scholarships tables on their websites. They are solely based on GPA and ACT/SAT scores.
Lack of transparency on LSU's part along with its holistic admission policy is steering some really good middle class students away.

There are traffic cameras at all those exits. Not sure if they record or how long, etc. Will the cops access those?
