re: Nola Article..New Orleans losing its soul

Anyone read the comments to that article?
“This article is a great argument against immigration, though that wasn't the author's intention. Consider the following: "Outsiders (who used to only visit) are putting down roots, tilting the delicate balance between those residents who move to the city because they love it and those who naturally embody the city’s culture because they live it." So if we replace "the city" in this sentence with "the USA" we have one of Trump's arguments. Or is it only bad when white people displace black people, not the reverse? Isn't that racist?”

Wow. If you ban anyone who questions a coach's decision, this place will only have maybe a dozen people left by week 2 of football season

My health won't allow it.
Thanks to Opie and Anthony, this movie and "The Shining" are both comedies to me now.

Guess what, if you took all of the benchs and seats out of Tiger Stadium so that everyone had to stand how many people would pay that kind of money to stand?
My guess is that whoever would still be there would be true fans who are passionate about LSU football...people who get emotional about the Fighting Tigers and who are there for a football game, not some social event.
And yes, I stand constantly during a game. I also scream and yell a lot, especially when we're on defense. It's a sad day when some of our "fans" think of this as unacceptable behavior in Death Valley.

re: "Assault in the Ring".....Billy Collins-Luis Resto incident
Posted by jagerclown on 8/6/09 at 10:45 pm to el tigre
This documentary pretty much confirms what I've always thought about Lewis, but my feelings are still torn about Resto. Part of me wants to think he is a total piece of shite, but another part of me thinks that he had too much blind faith in Lewis, and he didn't have enough sense to realize the implications of what was going on on.
I also have mixed feelings about Collins Sr. I can't imagine what it's like to lose a son, but at the same time he doesnt come across as the most sympathetic person out there either. If it's true that Collins Jr could have fought again but didn't because Collins Sr was afraid it would frick up the lawsuit...well, thats just fricked up. Also, I've read that Collins Sr was not only big into raising pitbulls for dogfighting, but that he would bring his kids to the dogfights and make them watch...well, that's pretty fricked up too.
Good documentary, but depressing as hell.
PS...on a side note, as a kid I loved Aaron Pryor...now I'm totally having second thoughts. Then again, do you think he knew what was in the water bottle, or was he just following orders from his trainer?
