re: Apple TV and Amazon Fire

Amazon Fire worked really well for me all weekend. Add to that the benefits of already having an Amazon Prime membership and we are happy.

Compliment the OM fan on the banner hanging in their little stadium that says "2003 SEC WEST CHAMPIONS". Then ask him who they played in the SECCG that yr. The answer, of course, is they didn't play anyone. LSU was the co-champs with them and beat GA to go on to win the National Championship.
re: Advocate article: "reveals" joking and playin

Are you kidding me? We have a gimme game to work on a non-existent passing game, and instead the players take the week off to play around in practice. If you can't figure out the problem with this, then the rant has lost its edge. That's embarrassing.

Just keep voting until it goes up 1% like I did. Only takes about 5 minutes and went from 36% to 37%.

Down vote me if you want, it only shows your assholery. I stand by my statement and you know I am right.
Andrew Stevenson....the Honey Badger of baseball
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 6/1/15 at 1:16 pm
All of the plays in center field that he makes, that ALMOST no one else in baseball makes, are equivalent to all of the takeaways that Mathieu used to make. He is a game changer defensively, second only, I think, to a pitcher like Lange or Nola.
re: Are you disappointed Houston isn't coming to the Box? (If LSU wins)

If you have paid attention and seen how few hitters are proficient in bunting, you would realize it is not "weenie ball", but skilled baseball mechanics that require excellent teamwork between hitter and base runners and coaches who do a great job of teaching fundamentals. It is like being able to hit all of your freethrows down the stretch to win a tight game. Is that "weenie ball" too?
Scoring with 2 outs
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 5/23/15 at 5:11 pm
I have noticed this for some time now. We seem to score a large percentage of our runs with 2 outs. I wonder if one of you young whiz kids could figure out what percentage of our runs we have scored with 2 out? NO I WILL NOT DO IT MYSELF! I am way too old, not tech savvy enough, and besides, I came up with the topic, you guys do the research. Show us what you got.

My contact close to the situation just told me: "I thought it was going to be LSU but now it looks like it will be wherever the money is best and that is over seas." LSU Patrick was the first to say it.

I didn't say Stringer knew anything. A family member of Stringer's is very involved in the HS/COL/SEMIPRO circle in Jackson and he called me and told me. His info came directly from people in the know.

You are right. Sorry. My bad.
Andre Stringer on Celtics D Team/Malik Newman to LSU

Just got a phone call from a relative of Andre's and someone very involved in Jackson basketball. He said Andre is playing on the Celtics' D team (SIAP)and that he has talked to several other coaches in the last few days who are very close to the situation, and all of them are saying that Malik is going to go to LSU to play with Ben Simmons.

I have said it before and I still believe it to be the case. Les believes he ruined JL's psyche by playing him too early and he is not going to do that to a young man again; especially one who is as talented and has as much potential as Harris. His problems were mental, not physical, and playing him against Auburn turned out to be a huge mistake. I think Les saw the same thing happening all over again and knew if he allowed it to continue the press and The Rant would destroy his confidence before he could get a handle on things. JMHO

re: Miles MUST split time w/AJ and Harris going forward
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 11/11/14 at 12:05 pm
I was going to comment that "the light comes on" for players when they get enough reps in game situations. However, if it is not even coming on in practice and they put him into an SEC game situation when he is clearly not ready, then you are asking for another Jarrett Lee scenario. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPACT ON MILES OF DOING THAT TO LEE. I suspect that if he is not mentally ready to manage the team, they will take their chances with developing him over the spring and summer and then let him compete next fall. Just a thought.

Not only did he do his time for the crime, but he then spent what could have been a lucrative career doing dental work at Angola instead. Did you bother cutting him any slack for that? I guess atonement for one's sins and forgiveness are not in your perfect world. I wonder what we don't know about you that you would rather keep under wraps??
re: Harris reading defenses--is it a concern?
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 9/28/14 at 12:00 pm
Just a thought; the coaches know where this is going long term, but have a much deeper understanding and pool of experience in bringing a young qb along than fans do. Never underestimate how allowing JL to stand in there and destroy his confidence with pick sixes effected Les. Of course they know Harris is the long term answer, and they know we will not win it all THIS year. You figure it out from there.
re: wondering if anyone else noticed this play?
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 9/7/14 at 5:51 pm
Here is why you don't want that happening (and yes, that means throwing less to Rural). Every SEC DC will have the video and will be baiting the soph. to make that throw. From the stands it is obvious that he is staring Dural down and not working through his progressions. However, I have no doubt that Cam will get it fixed. But Jennings better hurry up and "get it". Harris on the roll out is money.

Is that Smacker bihind Les? You talk about "Deer in the Headlights"! If LSU sent a videographer to go down with him to record it all, I'll bet he has some choice words for Les right about now. Take a good look folks, that is what CHEST looks like.
re: Tiger Tour in Jackson last night...
Posted by MISSnTX TIGER on 5/9/13 at 9:34 am
I stopped going 2 yrs ago after Bill called a special by-invite-only meeting to tell his side of the story about the feud between himself and Gen. Richard and enlist support of those there. I have not been back since but told the assembled guests that there was more to the story than being told. 400 people at the Tiger Tour stop but only about 25 on Monday nights of game week, and that with Michael Bonnette calling in from his office with an update of the happenings with the team. What does that tell you? I would love to see a viable booster club organized in the area.
