Me a Democrat? Not in a million years. I do however care deeply about the poor- especially children.
Go research who is administering Louisiana's Medicaid dollars these days. You will find they are companies in states like Florida. Ask any pediatrician, or NICU admin, or home health provider what they think about Jindal's new "Bayou Health" admins, and how easy they are to work with. Do a little research and ask why Bobby is changing all 5 of these plans to his "cost savings" model instead of just 3 like he originally planned. Gov Jindal will tell you it's because of greater savings and widespread fraud, but that's bullshite and he knows it.
The truth is, Louisiana had a model Medicaid system to fund services to the over 1 million poor people in the state. Not anymore.

Jindal has made it far more difficult to provide healthcare to the poor in this state, and deserves no "kudos". What he has done to Louisiana Medicaid is shameful and self-serving.
re: Barney Frank: Obama ‘lied’ about health plans

Barry and the Democrats told an even larger lie when they said that taxes would not increase. Turns out the entire thing is a collection of taxes. I guess they had to pass it to learn what's in it.
re: For all you anti-immigrant types...

If the people illegally "immigrating" were voting 90+ % GOP instead of the other way around, none of you phony Democrats would be pro-illegal immigrant. You would be gathering in large idiotic groups on the border to smoke dope and build massive impenetrable walls to keep them out.
re: Why is the Bp recovery money going to Medicaid?

Not bullshite. Google how Louisiana Medicaid dollars are spent. You just don't know what you're even talking about. A common trait on this board.

In Louisiana, Medicaid dollars are largely used to take care of sick children. The wetlands are very important. But I think the money is going to the correct place.

The Catholic Church is growing in the US and worldwide. Every claim to the contrary is false.
re: Thoughts on Catholic Church's Economic Philosophy

Capitalism and Socialism are both products of the European "enlightenment" and as such they are both poor and injust models.
I am a believer in Distributism as the best economic philosophy, at least theoretically.
The focus should be on property ownership for everyone instead of corporatocracy and a "fair share" tax system.

The two schools are not comparable or in the same league.

2.2 million dollars of new construction in Atlanta does not buy a "mansion". Try again.

Lowly and false hit piece with with political motivations. That's all it is. The producers of this drivel have no idea what goes on in the Vatican.
