I'm probably not the best judge cause as I've said a million times in discussions about the book, I just don't think it's a very good story and it shows in the movie.

Someone once said about The Great Gatsby -- "The beauty of Gatsby isn't in the story, it's in the telling of the story." It's Fitzgerald's prose which makes it a beautiful book. And, that will always be hard to translate into cinema.

If this guy can't win with 7 Legislative Scholarships to pass around, he should be fired. He has one of the biggest "unfair advantages" with those extra 7 scholarships and he still can't even make the damn post-season.

Under certain circumstance, taxes can be discharged in bankruptcy (do you own Google search).

If you qualify -- or even if you can qualify in the future, this could give you some leverage in negotiating a deal with the state. Go to them, make them an offer that you can live with, and then tell them that if they don't accept your offer you'll be forced to file for bankruptcy and have the entire debt discharged.
I throw a curveball at this one.

The 1925 Rolls Royce Phantom I Ascot Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton from the 1974 version of "The Great Gatsby".

This almost sounds like a job for the O-T. I'm sure those guys can get Gundy's home phone, cell phone and all other addresses. Just start inundating all of his addresses, calling him a D!CK and letting him know that this is really a bitch move.

Cherish your days in NOLA. I live in Spokane and it's pretty awful being so far from the Saints. No radio or local coverage, no fellow Who Dats to watch the game with and no Saints gear anywhere. It's just me and my family surrounded by millions of Seahawks fans.

Do you have family/good friend in N.O.?

If so, you REALLY need to buy them a Slingbox. While the quality isn't "great" especially when you blow it up to 65", it beats anything else (other than Sunday Ticket).

PLUS, you get to watch all the pre-game stuff on WVUE (and the other channels), as well as the wrap up show. Of course, on Mondays, watching Jim Henderson's comments are a must.
I don't know how Charles Barkley really feels. However, I'd bet that the vast majority of these former pro athletes (and some current) don't believe the bullsh!t their spewing for one second. They realize that if the don't tow the party line, they'll be out of a job -- FOR GOOD.

The most courageous guy in all of this is Chris Broussard.
I do think all loyal TD member/readers should "write in" Tigerdroppings as the place where they get most of their Tiger sports news.
Person of Interest -- Just extremely interesting story line and good acting. Mr. Reese is one scary mofo. I'm also dying to find out what was Harold's involvement with Mr. Reese's trip to China -- remember the piece of paper than came floating down when the car blew up???

My parents got me into it. It definitely keeps you watching from week to weeks.

Every adaptation has been shitty. This one will be as well.

I've got a VHS copy of the 40s version starring Alan Ladd and it's so much different than the book that it's almost unrecognizable.

I realize that the '73 version with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford was panned and didn't get good press, but I actually liked it. I thought it stayed true to the book as much as practicable. Before I saw it, I was little disappointed about the casting of Mia Farrow, but the more I've watched over the years, the more I really like her performance.

The two people who were going to play the role before they cast Farrow were Ali Magraw and Natalie Wood. Magraw's husband was the producer, and right before the final casting, he found out that she had been sleeping with Steve McQueen, so she was out. Natalie Wood got pregnant (during the filming Farrow found out she was pregnant, which is why she had so many flowing dresses). While I'm a HUGE Natalie Wood fan, I just don't see her in this role. By '73 she was just a little too old, and I just don't see her pulling of the subtle ditziness of Daisy.

Oh, and for the record -- :hitit: :hitit: :hitit:

Thanks for the confirmation. How does the IRS define the reasonable ccompensation?

One of the most litigated issues in tax. The IRS just can't seem to let it go.

Here's their new mascot --

Not a big fan. But at least it has some history to it.

As a player, I'd rather the flag to see exactly how the wind is blowing at that particular point in time.

Would you guys consider Shaq a thug too? He had his moments.....

I heard from a very reliable source that Dale kept Shaq in line with one threat -- he'd threaten to call Sgt. Harrison. Shaq was terrified of Sgt. Harrison. And, when Sgt. Harrison did come to campus, Shaq would turn into a six year old, begging people to hide him from his dad. Apparently, Sgt. Harrison didn't take ANY sh!t -- from Shaq or otherwise.
