Not on mid field huh?????
Don't get me wrong i think what he and Kershaw did hosting two teams in one stadium is admirable but it still does not mean he knows shite about grass
That was LSU's worst mistake in the turf field was getting rid of Kershaw he is right up there with the best of them and can u guess the reason he left... I will give you a hint the same reason i did.. its a name has four letters in it...
for your information he shared that award with jeff kershaw... man u have been lied too he has you fooled something awful... if you would open your eyes you can see that every other turf manager around the south has an awesome looking field year in and year out no matter the circumstances but that just goes to show you that some of us have the experience and the knowledge that others lack
ok i understand where u are coming from on timeline but there are plenty of grasses that i would have chosen over bullseye.... Also i have learned through experience that if you do not verticut the bullseye before overseeding u will not have a good stand of rye bullseye "ms choice" is to thick and thatchy... but my only complaint is this... he can't grow it in tiger stadium so why doom a brand new 40 million dollar facility with a grass he knows nothing about..... but i guess we will see if the guy from oregon can manage bermuda grass instead of kb and fescue.....
i agree celebration would have been a much wiser and better decision but I dont understand why u are saying with timeline??? Obviously someone does not understand that bullseye is one of the slowest to cover....
topnotch::: fyi It was decided more than a year and a half ago that they were going with bullseye bermuda so don't you sit here and try to cover that shite up i myself tried talking him out of putting it on the field....
people tried and tried to tell him not to put choice on baseball since they can't maintain it on tiger stadium but he would not listen
"Just wait ‘til the LA heat really cranks up – when they start watering that infield in between innings -- they won’t be able to cut that turf fast enough. Come regional time it’ll be real nice." See there we go again people. If you do not know by now that MS choice or bullseye bermuda is the current grass on the new box. It is more of a football grass than baseball it grows more lateral than vertical and it is the slowest growing bermuda there is. The downfall to it is it is not very wear tolerant. Another thing is that its last to green up and first to go dormant. But when managed right it makes for one hell of a playing field...
Hey no need for name calling and for your information I was on the inside thats why i left... so you can take all your bable back to whomever u work for and kiss their arse my guess would be you probably stay late and play call of duty with ronnie and todd in there office.....or over the net at home....
FYI people as long as Todd is affiliated with LSU you can go on and expect every year to have::::
1. Shitty turf
2. A bunch of excuses why its horrible
3. One big cover up
4. The new guy leaving within two years
5. And on top of that ALOT OF frickING GREEN PAINT to cover up his lack of knowlege about turf
6. WE as supporting LSU fans do not deserve this. Between Todd and Ronnie we get screwed every year and you know what is sad is that they keep getting promotions not repremands but gosh damn promotions for doing nothing fricking nothing to improve the situation. That is the biggest crock of shite i have ever heard.. Our only prayer is Alleva waking up and seeing the light one day. I do not have enough fingers and toes to count the number of experience knowlegeable people that have chosen to leave LSU because of the famous Dumbass duo of Todd and Ronnie..... I am over 7 facilities only two don't have natural grass and are old as dirt and they look and play one million times better than LSU. If I was over LSU I would kick todd in his balls and turn that place around.... But until he is gone we can expect the same ole shite and shitty excuses....
Akit1::: Don't let him lie to you Todd and George fought the entire time he was there he thought it was the worst he had ever seen. I was present for one episode so don't u let them lie to u... I remember him saying you dumb !@#$ at one point or another.....
Good luck with the new guy they hied from Oregon he has never managed bermuda or any other warm season grass so u can expect more of the same mainly because jeannsone is still there
"Halliburton considers Todd Jeansonne, assistant director of athletic facilities and grounds, to be the staff's expert on grass".
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH expert my arse

Well I have to say that they have obviously wised up a little bit they are now going to split up the Grounds part from the facilities part which will make a huge difference. They are interviewing people for the new Turf Manager position I know a guy from MS State that applied for it and all I can say is if they give whoever they pick for the job, full control over the field it will be a hundred times better next season.. Just a little bit to look forward to... I can't get the pictures to do right sorry....

Listen up... Here goes everything, I didn't say before because I was hesitant to mention who I was but I learned today that I will recieve a hefty bonus Jan 1 so I will not be leaving anytime soon. As you all read my previous thread about the horticulturalist well that was me. I came in thought I was applying for an assistants position and ended up under an assistant. Upon starting there I had seen the Turf in TS and relized what was happening but being new didn't want to ruffle any feathers by saying anything. The practice fields were a disaster they had not been topdressed or maintained in years due to lack of management. Me and the assistant I was under poored our heart and soul into the practice fields and old Alex Box. If some of you are to blind to notice that the #1 concern I had there was that a certain someone up the ladder, his concept of management is get more for less well thats all and good with materials but not with people and working them months upon months without a day off, we were severely under staffed and needed more help but help never came..... Sorry to blab about that but to the issue of TS. All i heard before i got there was that is drained like a dream and that a 4 inch rain could not rain a game out ha yeah freakin right. The problem arrived when they sodded the field. Yes it was fine for a year but after the first year they did not maintain it topdress, aerify, roll, deep tine aerify, or any other maintenance correctly. Once i opened their eyes to deep tine aerifying it started showing signs of the slightest improvement but Rome was not built in a day. Here is an example to all of you that don't know, and this happened the week of the South Carolina game last year I think can't remember... But they deep tine aerifyed the week of a game and topdressed with a heavy load of sand I know ya'll remember the sand flying but the field was chunking up and people were slipping and sliding everywhere. Example of people who don't know what they are doing and don't know proper timing..Another example has anyone every been in tiger stadium two or three hours before game time for the hilarious pregame watering of the field which is the dumbest thing ever unless it is a freaking droubt..Plus we batted a thousand last year on rain either on game day or the day before....Back to TS it developed a severe sod layer due to the lack of maintenance. In other words the grass could not breath nor could the water get down to the roots through the layer which made it slippery and chunk out. The off color spots were the more stressed areas which caused it to look like it had the measles but noone noticed that due to the unGodly amount of green paint that covered them up.... Now the assistant over TS tried but basically had no say in what got done to TS. FYI all three assistants are no longer there hmmmmmmm wonder what the problem is???? You be the judge. Believe me or not here are pictures to prove it...And I don't care if this does get back to them I am tired of you all as fans being jacked around about the damn truth Last two are for whoever wanted a picture of MS State end of season

hey mike the guy they hired that you say was a Turf manager did not screw up at all. He turned the practice fields around so much that it caught Les Miles attention where Miles asked why the practice fields looked and performed better than Tiger Stadium. They recieve much more abuse on a daily basis throughout the year verses 6 or 7 home games on TS. He was given the title of Horticulturalist and did a great job. He was put under one of the assistants that was later fired for some nonesense. Coach Paul Manieri begged him to stay as well as a few others before he had enough and left. Now the problem with Tiger Stadium lies solely on the names mentioned earlier who manage the field and the problem will not be resolved until they are no longer in "Power"
