The moron that was the coordinator for Archer...Zaunbrecher? Did a similar thing with a computer program. He called his plays based on the probability of success against the opponent's tendencies in a given down and distance. For those of you not old enough to remember those years....it didn't work out so well.
The other team has the same game and they will break tendencies...it all comes down to execution of the play called.

re: Does anyone else think that our main problem is the line?

If you look at the years we were dominant, we had strong Offensive and Defensive Lines. All the skill players in the world mean squat without a good line.
Coaching is suspect right now, but a great line can make mediocre coaches look like Lombardi.
Examples:
Even the best running backs don't make holes, they run through them.
The Greatest QBs struggle to make accurate/timely throws when hurried or on their back.
Linebackers that pursue well, do better when a good DL commands double teams and they don't have a 300lb'er in their face.
Pass defense looks good when the DL is putting pressure on the pocket and the QB can't wait for a play to develop. Mistakes get made, interceptions happen or at least a shorter route is thrown when avoiding a rush.
Blitzes are hell on an line that has their hands full just blocking the defensive front. You get more chances of a LB/DB coming on a blitz unabated.
The old saying that the game is won and lost up front is no less true today than it was 20+ years ago.

This is the only rant I go to....glad to see it was already covered.

Ole Miss
What would happen if we stopped letting thugs make it big in sports? Less athleticism but more role models....I'd take that.
