I don’t prep for doomsday/Mad Max scenario, but I make sure my family can survive up to a month with no need to leave the house.

As someone else stated, unless you’re investing in land and have a plan to self-sustain off the grid, you’re not actually prepping for doomsday scenario. You’ll be fricked like everyone else.

And by the way, better make sure that land you buy is pretty inaccessible and not in a particularly desirable location. Otherwise you’ll be fricked too once people find out there’s food and supplies. Good luck defending your proppity from the roving bands.

I think parts of Alaska and even Canada probably best for this scenario if you know how to hunt/fish/grow/preserve. You want to be somewhere where there aren’t many ppl and you’re hoping nobody can find you.
