Who married his own sister, had eight children with her, is revered as the Father of Louisiana, was the superintendent of a major college, and went on to murder perhaps hundreds of thousands of unarmed civilians because he had learned to hate the people in Louisiana so badly and turned against real Southerners as a consequence?

This is so sad. Pneumonia is a tough task to tackle at his age. Pneumonia is hard on anyone. I hope he didn't suffer too greatly.
