re: 2 year inverted yield curve

[quote] I'm racking my brains over this. I'm 39. Tempted to put all future 403b/401k contributions for my wife and I into money market/cash starting this week with the anticipation of a hard recession similar to 2007-2009. I would not touch all current investments. Reassess 14-18 months out? Wise o...

Chinatown - San Fran - Restaurants

Posted by skewbs on 3/26/24 at 4:53 pm
I thought there was a thread on this topic but I could not locate it using the search function. What is everyone's go-to spot in Chinatown for true authentic Chinese food? I've been to R&G Lounge twice (loved it!) and House of Nanking. Just looking for something different this time....

re: "Incomplete" Cost Basis

Posted by skewbs on 3/19/24 at 5:31 pm
It happened to me with TD Ameritrade. I sent them a message (through my app / account services) and told them my cost basis which I had known by looking up a previous statement from my brokerage prior to TDA. They had it fixed within a day. Never even asked for corroboration on the cost basis. I cou...

Reviving this thread. First off, your comparison workbook was amazing  I also live in Texas and thus did a comprehensive search to see which state offered the best plan according to underlying investment options, limited total expenses, and ease of opening, contributing, and withdrawing. ...

ALB with a rough day

Down almost 20% today. The high-level headline in my Schwab app says "Albemarle shares are trading lower after the company announced a proposed public offering of depositary shares." That's a steep drop. Anyone dabbling at this price point?...

Hearthstone is the best restaurant in the town. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Sure there are other great spots - Rootstalk and Blue River Bistro are must visits - but Hearthstone is where you need to be for an anniversary / celebration dinner. Why is the downside that it remains flat? If I buy today, and it re-tests the August 2023 lows and can't bounce back, that's approx. a 30% loss. What is your time horizon for holding and selling? I see the election mentioned (Nov 2024)....

Help at RB2 - Ty Chandler or Zeke

Posted by skewbs on 12/24/23 at 8:52 am
I made it this far alternating RB2’s since Rhamondre went down. Ty Chandler gets Detroit who is #1 against the run. Also, Mattison is expected to suit up, although the head coach said Chandler has earned the opportunity. Zeke is taking on Denver whom ESPN has as ranked as ceding the most points to o...
