Shut up idiot.

More stats to wow you:

Number of Attempts per TD (QBs with 8 or more TDs, same as Lee) (aka, how many attempts it takes to get a TD pass out of the QB):
Bray 12.6
Murray 12.3
Wilson 17.3
Trotter 15.6
Lee 14.75
McCarron 18.75

Number of Attempts per INT (aka, how many attempts it takes to get an INT pass out of the QB):
Bray 88
Murray 26.6
Wilson 69.3
Trotter 23.5
Lee 118
McCarron 75

Don't confuse Les' desire to only throw the ball 20x a game with Lee not being a very good QB. He's playing great football. And, there is no reason to think he won't continue as the season progresses and if the coaches ask him to start throwing it more.

These are terrible stats. It really says a LOT about the QB situation when the newfound JL for heisman homers are having to make up stats and explain what they are in parentheses just to show how "good he is." He is a product of our system, and isn't doing anything extraordinary. Don't confuse not screwing up with leading the team to victory every weekend.

While I understand everyone deserves recognition for great play in this conference and having 3 LSU players on the list is awesome, you can't make me believe that Jarrett Lee doesn't deserve to be on this list. At least somewhere...

Absolutely, most certainly not.

Dear sir,
How dare you not blame Les Miles for every LSU mistake?!?!?

People like you are the ones who bring up Saban in every Les Miles thread. Not the "Sabanistas"

He should blame himslef. But, it was a great call y Les and by the coaches that saw the opening. Until the mental mistake, it was a great run by Wing.

They didn't make that call, but yeah.
No way. Although I was drunk as hell watching the Florida game and after he scored I was screaming Heisman over and over again. But, this is not something you say when you are free of influence from any intoxicating substances.
Don't worry, as long as we beat Bama we're in... I think Okie State gets the best of OU this year.

Before the endzone, yes. I hate the fricking rule, really, I do... but, that's the rule.

Most calls are subjective in football.

If they called all of the other rules for as marginal a shite as they called that for "taunting", there would be 50 holding calls per game and damned near half the incomplete passes ever thrown would end with pass interference calls.

I agree with you about the holding calls, but not pass interference calls. Nothing is as subjective as excessive celebration, because you have to couple with that the fact that NEVER affects the outcome of a play. Yes, I know you could say that about some blocks in the back and some pass interference calls too, but... you get my point.

So, what you're saying is . . . today's young people are turning into pussies.

And yes, I said in other threads that a bunch of middle aged white guys (and, yes, white guys are more likely to have a stick up their butt) made the rule to feel good about themselves. Nevertheless, the idea that points are essentially taken off of the board for that "infraction" cannot be defended.

I'm not defending it. I'm saying that if I were a paid official in the game, and it had been a team like OU or USC, I would have made that call (because we all know I wouldn't have made that call against LSU). It's a subjective call, excessive celebration almost always is. You're a lawyer, you, of all people, should know his hand waving can be construed as taunting before the end zone.

When they made that call, my heart sunk to my shoes... I actually thought they were going to replay 4th down, because I didn't know the rule. But, it's the rule.

If that silly gesture constitutes "taunting" then let's just call it a day for any kind of emotion or enthusiasm in football. Honestly, that was absolutely nothing. God have mercy. Have today's young people turned into pussies?

Not at all. Actually, I'm pretty sure a bunch of middle aged white guys like yourself implemented the stupid rule. I hate excessive celebration penalties, I think they're extremely subjective and unfair. The new call is if he hasn't entered the end zone, correct? He can still taunt, just don't do it on the way to the end zone and the touchdown stands. Pretty simple.

Okay. Please specifically state what factors in Wing's touchdown constitute "taunting" as opposed to other emotional reactions during the game.

When he blatantly threw his arms up while looking at members of the opposing team. Pretty obvious call. Sorry if it's too hard to comprehend for the "voice of reason."

The right call for an AWFUL rule. I hated that it got taken off the board becuase it was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen. Ah well.

I agree. I've been rewatching it over and over again... wanting to relive when I spilled my chips all over the carpet drunkenly screaming HEISMAN!!! HEISMAN!!!! hahaha.

But it was the right call. Like you said, right call, bad rule.

I just saw an OU player do some Roger Craig high steppin in endzone after TD...surprise...no flag.

Was it IN the endzone or inTO the endzone? I watched about 12 minutes of that game.

Man, I'm watching and rewatching this clip... this was a special play... I was cracking up when I saw it in real time... but watching it over and over again, I don't know that I've seen anything like this watching LSU... when Gary Danielson says "Oh man... here we go" I just start cracking up. God damn I love LSU.

While I still think we will win, I don't expect stellar numbers from the passing game.

I don't care who we're playing, with our choices between Lee and JJ, I never expect stellar numbers from the passing game.

Absolutely not. LSU gains nothing by playing BSU. Huge risk

Well, if we're in the BCSCG, we would get a championship out of it. What's your point?

Talking to a Baylor grad about the good start they've had and how it was about to get tuff. His reply was "3 more wins to go bowling".

Now a question. Do you envy his feelings as opposed to ours "the ship or bust"?

I'm on the ship or bust train.

Yeah, I've been a fan since the early 90s, even though I was young as shite then, and even though there was something special about tearing down goal posts after beating Spurrier, "ship or bust" beats losing by 7 touchdowns to Florida any day.

thus the point of the thread. Only 4 plays and no throws. Time to throw him to the bench forever

And lest anyone forget next week and try to say that we "lucked" out in our win over Tennessee, here were those stats:

But, we did luck out in that game. Stats are stats. JJ at QB was more than enough to make any stat line advantage we had irrelevant.
