Seasons 3-5 are the peak seasons. I wasn’t digging the final season until Don went on his literal odyssey, which I thought was a fantastic way for his character to come full circle.

Spider-Man 2 is the perfect superhero movie. I love The Dark Knight just as much, but that feels like a breakthrough in terms of superhero movie branching successfully into a new genre. But as it stands as to what a Superhero movie is and should strive for - you can’t beat Spider-Man 2.

The emphasis on the crappy life of Peter Parker because of the weight of Spider-Man’s responsibilities, losing his love, having his best friend hate him for not being there in his time of grief, his Aunt being evicted for not being able to afford her home, the weight and responsibilities of being a superhero.

It’s just perfect. Not a single scene wasted. Peter running into the burning building to save a child, MJ slowly realizing that Peter and Spider-Man kiss the same, Aunt May’s powerful speech about there being a hero in all of us (she definitely knows Peter is spider man). And it builds off the first movie in the most satisfying ways. MJ finally seeing Peter revealed as Spider-Man was the buildup of two films executed to perfection.

I’m not hating the MCU, but it’s hard pressed to find a MCU movie that carries all of that emotional weight.

It’s a 10/10 masterpiece and Raimi’s magnum opus

In terms of a movie about addiction and the human need to chase whatever’s next, yeah it’s perfect. Ebert described it best as a porno with all of the eroticism taken out, so all that we are left with is an ugliness of human compulsion and addiction on display. Almost like an AI trying to understand why people are the way they are. Obviously using the most extreme and crazy imagery to make its point. It’s an art film. Hope that you know I’m not trolling.

Put it this way - you know those crazy fricks that will sky dive without a parachute? Or the person that starts off drinking and fast forward a few years and are shooting up? Or the sex addict that is so desensitized because of the abundance of sex and perversion available that it takes insane proclivities to get them off? All of those people are what Crash (1996) is about.

Crash (1996) is a perfect movie. Not a likeable movie, not a rewatchable movie, and certainly not a feel good movie. But as it stands it’s pretty much perfect.

Not only that, but as a first year coach getting that team through Katrina messing up the season and winning the west after 10 games in a row…how could you let go of Les? Tennessee loss aside, he did as great of a job given the insane circumstances.

The Beyond (1981) is an incredible New Orleans cosmic horror movie

Stone Cold with Brian Bosworth is top tier so bad it’s good action movies, but the action is pretty great and over the top too

The first Georgia game that year. The iconic one. There seems to be no footage of the full game like all the others. On a YouTube search all it shows is the SEC championship between the two later that season and cut up highlights. Anyone have the full game in video form? It’s a truly iconic game in Tiger football history and it’s a shame it has not been preserved correctly.

I liked it a lot. The cyclops scene was so good. So many gorgeous shots, the action set pieces were paced to where every 20 minutes or so there’s something huge happening. I did love in particular how Nolan gave us early on what we think is the complete Troy scene, only to bring it back around in the 3rd act with the flashback sequence. The third act in particular is great and very, very satisfying. Idk what to say other than I had a great time and you know, god bless Cgris Nolan for making on location, practical effect film making in 2026.

Like the film or not, movies aren’t made like this these days. In a world where everything is filmed on green screen or has a blurry unfocused background because of the digital cameras, Nolan still makes real movies like they use to. Gotta give him that.

Matt Damon is great as Odysseus, Robert Pattinson will definitely be nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Tom Holland was okay.

I’m kinda over the culture war stuff but I’ll say this, no Lupita should not have been cast as Helen if Troy, but the character is in like 3 minutes of the movie. A glorified extra. It was barely there to ruin anything. Elliot Page is a weird…dude. But to be fair the whole ladyboy thing might be the most accurate thing about Ancient Greece in this movie. Tons of f@ggotz back then.

Anyway 8.5/10.
