This is going to be a disaster of a hire… starting on Jan 1 in New Orleans.

I know that our running game has been complete shite and it’s hard for us to imagine why you would want to spend good money on a RB. But lane is in charge now and his running game is essential and a great RB is important. Not sure if 2 million is what we’ll spend, but it’s not the same situation anymore,
I am supremely confident that if Caden Durham had been playing for Lane Kiffin the past 2 seasons, we would not give
AF about Kewan Lacy.

G5 is like letting the AAA minor league baseball champs in the MLB playoffs.

I don’t believe he played after the 3Q.

It means little to no New Orleans area players, specifically St Aug and Karr.

lol bro thinks every college coach has masters…. you can’t make this shite up.
re: Can we get a list of all-time Frank Wilson recruits?

Impressive hall, but I would assume the worst recruiter would land half of those guys and a good recruiter, most of them, based on LSU brand.

It was Jordy. And if a sports talk guy,, being paid to talk about sports, talks about a 5 star CB not playing and it’s on a record setting defense for being bad…I wouldn’t call that being an “idiot” for calling on the 5 star to play.
Top 5 overall coaches in SEC football coaches going into next season ?
Posted by Former_5_Star on 12/7/25 at 10:20 pm
My crack at top half of the league in coaches. I only did a top 7
I think 1 and 2 are clear in my personal preference, but I could flip 3 thru 7.
1. Kirby - I like Lane as a game day coach better but you can’t top the recruiting, game day, development combo of Kirby and the results.
2. Lane - offensive savant genius level. Developed a hell of a lot as a program builder, and the portal king. I’ve always been incredibly impressed by him as a coach. We’ve now got a Sean Payton, Nick Saban type of advantage on game day. That’s how I would feel as a fan.
3. Clark Lea - maybe too high but amazing what he’s done at Vandy. Let’s see it without Pavia though.
4. Heuppel - some of the shine has dulled, but not sure why. He’s done an amazing job. Assume most would rate him lower.
5. Sark - Has had a ton of talent, so hard to tell how good he is. He definitely has improved the program, coinciding with the NIL era.
6. Elko - Maybe too soon, but he’s done what Jimbo should have.
7. Deboer- The dude had a tough task and he’s done a good job by any measure.

If he doesn’t play, his draft stock is that he’s an UDFA.
The best and likely only chance of his having any “draft stock” is for him to put 1 game tape where he’s good at football this year. As of now, that tape does not exist.

We processed a couple of dudes that we could have signed. We didn’t want 25 Freshmen.
We want kids who can contribute in the first two years, otherwise we’ll see you in a few years and take you out of the portal when you are ready.
We’re like an NFL set up. NFL game day, teams have 46 active players from the 53 man roster. Then they have up to 17 players on the practice squad.
I can count 40 or so guys on our projected returning roster that would be “active” on game day. There’s only 10 or so spots on this “active roster” to be in the top 50 of who is actually going to play in a meaningful game.
At max, 3-4 Freshman, no matter the class are in that rotation. If we hit at that rate next year, that leaves only 7 or so spots. So we are looking for 7 prospects to contribute for next season plus 7-10 more who can compete to improve over guys currently in our top 50.
Where are you going to find those 15 players for next season? Hint: It’s where they are older than the age of 18.

The only way LSU should ever do it would be if it was agreed for the away trip to be in the dome and 50/50 split on that away revenue.
I do agree that it’s an easy win (shame on us when it’s not) and way better than playing any of the other LA schools.

And? In my lifetime no one of my generation gave a shite about them. They sucked arse other than 1 year with Cutcliff and 2 years with Freeze over the 40 years since they were a “rival”. Until Lane Train arrived and they became something other than a cute story when they do well.
To OP’s question, now it will be a major rivalry, but after a few years of stomping their sorry asses, I doubt it’s a big game on our end. It will become the trap game it’s always been in my lifetime, similar to Arkansas. A team our opponent sees as their Super Bowl, but one we need to try to get up for.
