But not with the SEC, based on what the commish said about RJ Louis, right?

Good. I’ve always felt Acho to be one of the least knowledgeable and phony people on TV.

I hate the ruling, but would want a veteran CB as my first priority.
Wouldn’t mind another edge. I can live with our DT’s. It’s not like we don’t also have talented veterans in that spot, despite the concern about the Freshman.

re: How much were top high school football recruits in the 1980s getting paid under the table?

Basketball 1997, Lester Earl got a $16k pickup truck and I think his parents got a nice job or similar.
He was a top 5 recruit in the country and that’s when CBB was a much bigger sport with players staying 2-4 years.
Also, I knew some players in that time frame and a bit later. They wouldn’t have some cash in their lockers or pockets of their clothing after games for playing well. I think it was a few hundred bucks up to $500 or so though.

re: Would a JD5 apology to LSU fix this?
Posted by Former_5_Star on 8/18/26 at 12:09 pm to GoShoughYourself
It would help if he wants to be welcome ever, to come out and say “I f’d up, should have taken more responsibility of my teams decisions or my ego got in the way of my love for LSU”, etc.
But he’s running out of time.

You basically have to remove him now, otherwise you are booing a Heisman winner in front of recruits who love this Heisman winner.
I’ll never boo Jayden in my life, but we have some really dumb fans.
His momma, I’d boo her dumb arse for sure.

Y’all some boys that must be built different. Personally, I can’t survive outside for 4-5 hours at 105-110 heat index. I’ll pass the f@ck out.

I don’t understand how someone can find McAfee anything other than annoying. He’s the same as Stephen A. to me…. After a few seconds of hearing them, I hate life.

I forgot how Rahim Allem (Al Jones) died. Did that ever get disclosed?
Wild that both brothers died at a young age. Sad.

Thats overly simplistic. Say goodbye to our last 3 National Championship QBs, Patrick Peterson, Jamal Adams, Joseph Addai, Danielle Hunter, Sam Montgomery, Kwon Alexander, and several others. Not to mention our last 2 Heisman trophy winners although were transfers were out of state. Does LSU always need Louisiana players? Yes but you can't just ignore out of state players. Rarely will you be able to get every position of need if you concentrate on just Louisiana. C'mon man.
I believe everyone you mentioned other than Sam Montgomery is from our classic recruiting areas though, TX, MS, AL, Georgia, FL.

I’m hopeful he was joking. Doing it for TD clout.
re: BYU guy says Saints wasted Taysom
Posted by Former_5_Star on 8/3/26 at 9:25 am to bstaceyau19
As a QB alone, Taysom did not belong in the NFL. Terrible pocket presence and his best asset, his legs, if not a designed run, dude somehow had zero awareness of when to break the pocket and make a play.

re: How can anyone that loves LSU like Lane Kiffin?
Posted by Former_5_Star on 8/2/26 at 5:42 pm to Rouge
I absolutely despised Nick Saban for about 15 years or however long he was at Bama… after worshipping him a few years before that.
If he had wanted to come back at any time in those 15 years of me despising him, I would have been back to worshiping immediately.

Well, the article is saying that them changing his entire approach at the plate from LSU is driving the recent improvement.

I agree. I kind of feel like his legs are a weapon. He’s not Jaylen Daniel’s, but 20% or so more of a threat than well above average guys like Chris Flynn and everyone favorite Fr year Ben Johnson.
Arm wise, watched a good hour of his tape a few days ago and I was impressed. He slings it something like a jr year version of Greg Nussmeier and a sr year Blake Mettenberger in my humble opinion.
I know that those comparisons would essentially say he’s going to have a top 3 season all time (right behind Josh Burrow and Jaylen), but I can definitely see it.
