You think Florida State was hard done by? You had the misfortune to encounter a P!ZZED Dawgs outfit who also felt cheated out of the chance to threepeat

re: Can UGA be left out of the playoffs?

That's kinda where I'm coming from.
Tennessee will be a 2-loss team
'Bama, Ole Miss and UGA all 3-loss, and UGA lost to both!
I'm more worried that a loss by UGA will dump them out of the 12.
Your list shows
B1G x4
SEC x4
Conference champs x3
Independent x1.

If the committee feels there should be another conference team, and UGS gets belted by the longhorns, then there's a chance they drop UGA below those 2 B1G teams and (since 'Bama beat UGA this year) that the Dawgs get relegated to the park bench.

Can UGA be left out of the playoffs?

Right now, UGA is definitely #2 or #3 in the SEC (depending on your voting preferences) and so must be pretty sure of a spot in the 12-team finals.

But, if they lose big to the Longhorns, how FAR will the committee drop them?

Is it possible that two years in succession they can find themselves peering in at the teams battling for the title?

The committee COULD (probably would) drop them below Tennessee (who they beat), and COULD (probably not) below 'Bama (who beat them).

CAN the committee have 4 SEC teams in the 12 (or should that also imply 4 B1G teams since they've been so highly ranked?

My point is this...
Right now, UGA is a certainty.
Play one more game (against a team that is also in the playoff race) while other competition gets a bye week and you could find yourself dropped. Maybe losing ti GT would've been a better option :-(
