I don't agree that you sacrifice your rights when you commit a crime, I think part of what makes America great is our judicial system, that said you make a good point. It isn't fair to expect an average person to make that kind of assessment. That said, if you are (somehow) able to know for sure that a criminal no longer poses any threat to you, you shouldn't kill them.
This post isn't quite as dumb as it seems.

Realistically USC deserves to make the playoffs.

Realistically USC won't make the playoffs.

I'm an SEC fan so I can't read a book that long without pictures, but it'll make Bama fans mad so good post

Bit of a necro (sorry!) but I realized I hadn't given my two cents. I think the law should be on your side in a situation like this, but if someone's very clearly retreating and poses no further threat to you you shouldn't be able to execute them. Where it gets tricky is if they've already taken some of your stuff, I think you probably (morally) shouldn't shoot someone if they aren't taking anything of too much value, but you should (legally) be allowed to defend your property.

Clemson-USC is a tossup and it should be a very entertaining game. Coming from a part-garnet household has taught me never to count my gamecocks before they hatch, but I think USC should be slight favorites.

Tech isn't a tossup but I can hope for a miracle, Sting 'Em!

If someone is breaking into your home should you be allowed to defend yourself using lethal force? Assume that you could allow them to take the property they want and leave without violence occurring.
