I sold silver bars today for $2.50 under spot !!

Assuming that was to a dealer, not bad. I sold some 10 oz bars for 4 back and 20 sealed tubes of Eagles for 3.5 back. I was happy with the bar deal but think I could have done better on the Eagles. However, given the current price, I was already getting 3x on my buy in plus, as these dealers are fully aware, I didn't feel like driving around all afternoon trying to make an extra $200 at best. Plus, most of the dealers are by appointment only around here so that further adds to the decision on trying to chase the best buyer.
If true, that’s almost 25% of the school’s endowment . That’s embarrassing. And yes, I know it comes from different pots of $.
I never really did anything other than maybe a free slurpee or something but a few years ago , I took a day off work and ran the gamut all at different locations - Doughnut , soft drink, oil change (that was nice ), Applebees, hair cut , car wash, and maybe 1-2 others . I made sure to thank them via a great on line review . Probably would have made for a cool YouTube video .

No and Tulane’s student body is made up of the worst kind of northerners. Rich, entitled, and liberal.

Keep going , you’re almost there …. You forgot to mention one more detail regarding the worst kind…

Penn Yann

Our cottage is about 5 miles south of Penn Yan on Keuka. Are you from the FLX area?
Sports need defined seasons and should never be year round, I’m looking at you baseball and softball!!!!

But even within travel ball, aren't those seasons defined by 4-6 month periods? Or if you sign up for a team, are you signing up for an entire year (meaning 12 consecutive months)?

One of my sons is a highly competitive wrestler and social media is killing these kids. NOT from the kids, but by the parents who see other kids at practices and camps and then it drives them to push their kids to train harder than the Bassetts (and don't get me started on cutting massive amount of weight as a teenager) and then quit other sports and activities they like.

I'm no perfect parent and I want my kids to excel like any other parent but damn, when I see parents intentionally placing their kids in easier high school classes so they can concentrate on their sports, I'm thinking - I have a feeling this is a very short sided decision.

Come on . But, who backs them ? Who believes they will be easier to manipulate and control more than the headstrong White Christians ? Come on, you know , don’t you ?

No degree needed. You just need to find a kid to write some Python code and fill in the blanks and then hope for no injuries.

My 25 year reunion people were just happy to catch up and no one gave a rat's arse about being successful or not.

This was actually what our 25 year was. Everyone talked to everyone and had a great time whether you were friends with them in HS or not. I honestly didn’t even like HS, I only went to my 25 to see 2 friends who I hadn’t seen in years but had a really good time .

Time to ban knives.

No one is here to ban your knives. We just want some common sense knife laws. The founding fathers did not envision the assault knives being used today. Only the military and civilian police forces should have access to some of these knives. Other than to spread peanut butter, what use should a civilian have for some of these??!!

These people have to ruin everything

Yes, that’s literally the reason for this . It’s a group who opposes charter schools so they dig up this kid as a pawn to use for a lawsuit knowing it will break the school win or lose.

Oakley were some scary dudes!

Living in Philly in 2000 and going to a lot of sixers games - the Oakley / Tyrone Hill gambling debt subplot of the sixers / knicks games that season was absolute must listen to talk sports radio in Philadelphia . Straight out of 70’s era NBA off the court drama that could only work in those markets .
Academics ? USC and it’s really not that close but ucla is closing the gap in recent years. However , you’re talking private vs public .
I spend too much time on my phone also but I know those numbers you’re seeing include when any apps are open like Waze or Spotify when driving

He became the commandant of cadets of the United States Air Force Academy on June 18, 1999.[11] He was appointed by President Barack Obama in May 2012, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee in July 2012 and was confirmed shortly thereafter by the United States Senate.

I might agree with you except for the guy literally said "Are you going to do anything?"

So, I guess, yea, they are doing something at his request.

The two feathers on the outside of the circle are boss. To me, that detail set it apart from other logos big time.

Can you imagine the frat that guy belonged to?

Theta Chi -Fresno State

He may have been active when it was shut down in 2012:

The Grand Chapter, Theta Chi Fraternity’s international board of directors, has announced that it has unanimously voted to revoke the charter of Beta Upsilon Chapter at California State University, Fresno. Effective immediately, the chapter is closed and is no longer considered an active chapter within Theta Chi for any purpose. Prior to this action, the chapter was on suspended status since Sept. 1, 2012.

This action was taken following the receipt of reports in the days and weeks following the tragic loss of Philip Dhanens, who pledged the Fraternity on Aug. 31, 2012. These reports indicated that violations of Theta Chi Fraternity’s alcohol policies occurred within the chapter. The violations run in direct contradiction to Theta Chi’s policies, standards, and stated objectives.
